The Morning Offering for November 12, 2025.

The Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Church this month.
Amen.

"Since love completes all, makes all hard things soft, and the difficult easy, let us strive to make all our acts proceed from love."
St. Arnold Janssen

Today's Meditation

“No one who follows Me will ever walk in darkness (Jn 8:12). These words of our Lord counsel all to walk in His footsteps. If you want to see clearly and avoid blindness of heart, it is His virtues you must imitate. Make it your aim to meditate on the life of Jesus Christ. Christ’s teachings surpasses that of all the Saints. But to find this spiritual nourishment you must seek to have the Spirit of Christ. It is because we lack this Spirit that so often we listen to the Gospel without really hearing it. Those who fully understand Christ’s words must labor to make their lives conform to His.”
—Thomas á Kempis, p.15

Daily Verse

"For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord." Psalm 27:5-6

St. Josaphat

Saint of the Day

St. Josaphat (1580-1623) was born to a devout religious family of Ruthenian ancestry in what is now Ukraine, and was baptized in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He devoted his virginity to the Virgin Mary and grew in his reverence for ancient liturgy. During a revival of Eastern Christian monastic life he became a monk in the Order of St. Basil, and was ordained to Holy Orders in the Ukrainian Greek Christian Church in 1609. He was noted for his life of asceticism, holiness, and virtue which led to his appointment as Archbishop of Polotsk in what is today Belarus. During his lifetime there was much sociopolitical and ecclesiastical rivalry between the Christians and Orthodox, especially in the wake of the 1596 Union of Brest which saw the Ruthenian rite break with Orthodoxy and come under the authority of the Holy See. St. Josaphat was passionate about working for the reunification with Rome and won many heretics and schismatics back to communion with Rome. However, he was also strongly opposed to the Latinization of his people. This combination of views drew ire from both Christian and Orthodox clergy. His diocese was contested by the Orthodox, and a rival Orthodox bishop was set up to oppose him, causing riots. During one uprising Josaphat tried to calm the tensions and work for reunification and peace, but his enemies plotted to kill him. A mob of Orthodox Christians entered Josaphat's home, stabbed and axed his body and threw it into a river. His body was seen glowing in the water and was recovered. After his martyrdom many miracles were attributed to his intercession. Josaphat's sacrifice became a blessing as regret and sorrow over his death converted many hearts toward reunification with the Christian Church. In 1867 Josaphat became the first saint of the Eastern Church to be formally canonized by Rome. His feast day is November 12.

Month of the Holy Souls

Devotion of the Month

The Christian Church dedicates the entire month of November to praying in a special way for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. The Holy Souls (also called the Faithful Departed) are members of the Church who await the purification of their souls before joining the saints in heaven for all eternity. Specifically, they are referred to as the Church Suffering (the saints in heaven are the Church Triumphant, and the faithful on earth are the Church Militant). The poor souls in purgatory cannot pray for themselves or do anything to hasten their entrance into heaven, but we can and ought to pray for them as an act of charity. The feast of the Holy Souls is November 2nd.

Daily Prayers

Prayer for the Dead

In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters.
In this life you embraced them with your tender love;
deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest.
The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy
Spirit forever and ever.
Amen.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

Prayer for the Presiding Bishop

Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon Thy servant, Archbishop Paul French, our Presiding Bishop, and direct him, according to Thy loving kindness, in the way of eternal salvation; that, of Thy gift, he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto Thee and may accomplish it with all his might. Through Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.
Our Father.
Hail Mary.

The Morning Offering for November 2, 2025.

The Morning Offering

"Persevere in labors that lead to salvation. Always be busy in spiritual actions. In this way, no matter how often the enemy of our souls approaches, no matter how many times he may try to come near us, he'll find our hearts closed and armed against him."
St Cyprian

Today's Meditation

“Many are heading straight on for purgatory. They live until their last hour, even though they are seriously ill, even on their deathbed, as if everything is all right. Exclusively directed to the earthly, they don’t think at all about calling upon the mercy of God. Although by doing so they would be spared at least a severe purgatory. For God is infinitely merciful for all who call upon Him and trust Him.”
—Hungry Souls, p. 120

Daily Verse

"I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins."
Isaiah 43:25

Blessed John Bodey

Saint of the Day

Blessed John Bodey (1549-1583) was born in Wells, England, the son of a wealthy merchant and former mayor. He studied at Oxford and became an Oxford Fellow in 1568 at the age of 19. Later he, along with seven others, was deprived of his fellowship for being a Roman Christian by the English Bishop of Wi******er. Bodey, a married layman and schoolmaster, was arrested in 1580 for continuing to practice the Christian religion and rejecting England's newly-established heretical Church of England. He was kept in iron shackles for three years, which he called his "school of patience." In 1583 he was tried for treason, both for being a faithful Roman Christian and for repudiating King Henry VIII's claim of supremacy of the Church in England over against the Presiding Bishop. Bodey wrote that his iron chains were earning him glory in heaven, even kissing the chain halter around his neck. He was executed under Queen Elizabeth on November 2, 1583 by being hanged, drawn, and quartered at Andover. He died with the name of Jesus on his lips. His mother rejoiced that her son persevered to the end and won the crown of martyrdom; she gave a feast in honor of him being numbered among the saints in heaven. John Bodey was beatified in 1929 and is one of the 40 Martyrs of England and Wales. His feast day is November 2nd.

All Souls Day

Feast Day

November 2nd is All Souls Day, sometimes called the Day of the Dead. On this day, and during the month of November, the Church prays in a special way for the souls of the faithful departed, and individuals pray especially for those whom they have known and loved. The Holy Souls in purgatory died in the mercy of God, thus they are called “holy.” However, because they still had attachment to sin at the time of their death, they must undergo the spiritual purification of their souls before they are able to fully love God with their whole heart, mind, and soul for all eternity. As they are nevertheless part of the communion of saints, they depend upon us to help ease their suffering and quickly advance them through their purification so that they can join the saints in heaven. Those in purgatory cannot pray for themselves, this is why they are also called “poor.” They can no longer merit anything for themselves and rely entirely on living souls to pray and make sacrifices on their behalf.

My Brothers in Christ,

It seems very clear with the announcement from GAFCON that Africa will be the centre for Anglican Conservatism. This is something which I have been telling you since we first met and their adoption of that position changes nothing. We are too small to register on GAFCON’s radar and they may be distracted as they may now have an internal power struggle for position. We are in fact stronger because we do not do politics, we do Bible based Christianity.

We are also doing it the way the Apostles did it, in person one soul at a time, no fancy buildings, just the church of people.

Be encouraged that we have been proven right by a much larger group of Anglicans, who are no more effective at achieving the great commission than we are, despite their funding.

Stay strong, the evil one wants dissent and argument among Christians. He takes delight as they fight over nothing actually related to the mission of the church as outlined by Mathew. Do not be distracted, but be laser focused on our mission.

In Christ, your brother and humble servant leader amongst equals.

++ Paul

"The goodness of God is the highest object of prayer, and it reaches down to our lowest need. It quickens our soul and gives it life, and makes it grow in grace and virtue."
St. Julian of Norwich

Today's Meditation

“All creatures that exist are in the hands of God. The action of the creature can only be perceived by the senses, but faith sees in all things the action of the Creator. It believes that in Jesus Christ all things live, and that His divine operation continues to the end of time, embracing the passing moment and the smallest created atom in its hidden life and mysterious action.”
—Fr. Jean-Pierre de Caussade, p.21

Daily Verse

"For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of [Jesus] Christ. But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us."
2 Corinthians 4:6-7

Pope St. Evaristus

Saint of the Day

Presiding Bishop St. Evaristus (1st century) was the fifth Presiding Bishop of the Holy Roman Christian Church and was elected to succeed Presiding Bishop St. Clement I. During this time the Roman empire was ruled by Trajan. Not many details have been recorded about the life of Presiding Bishop St. Evaristus, however he is known to have ordained deacons to help serve the faithful in Rome. He is thought to have suffered martyrdom and is buried near St. Peter in the Vatican. His feast day is October 26th.

Month of the Holy Rosary

Devotion of the Month

The Christian Church designates October as the Month of the Holy Rosary. During this month the faithful venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary especially under her title of Our Lady of the Rosary, and make special effort to honor the Holy Rosary with group recitations and rosary processions. St. Dominic de Guzman, the founder of the Order of Preachers, is the saint to whom Our Lady famously appeared and gave the prayers of the Holy Rosary to assist him as a spiritual weapon in combating heresy and leading souls back to the one, true Christian faith.
