Sunday's scripture readings began with the Lord saying in Isaiah, "my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples." Yet in Matthew's Gospel, a Canaanite woman challenged Jesus to include her and her sick child who needed healing. After continued pleading and persistence, Jesus did grant the daughter healing and pushed ahead his own timeline in reaching out to the Gentiles to begin to fulfill reaching out to all nations, all people. In the midst of the worship service, Pastor Ron offered a solo, "People Need the Lord."

Equipped with his life jacket, Pastor Ron and the children explored the importance of wearing a life jacket on a boat, kayak, jet ski and pontoon. We decided that we can't walk on water unlike Jesus and Peter who walked on water in the Gospel reading. We talked about how we can reach out to Jesus in moments when we are scared just like Peter did.
