This Sunday:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This week we segway from our Psummer in the Psalms into a Pentecost series that other churches have been doing for several weeks: Unexpected Truths. Remember that the season after Pentecost is all about the different teachings of Jesus. This week the unexpected truth that we’ll look at is: I AM my brother’s keeper. Think back to Cain and Abel. After Cain murdered his brother, God asked Cain where Abel was, and Cain said “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Turns out, the answer is yes! God shows us this in multiple scripture lessons which we will look at. I can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

Announcements for the week of September 6, 2026
Prayers: For Jill, daughter of Dewey & Diane L. as she undergoes Chemotherapy treatment. For Linda S.as she recovers from surgery for her broken hip. For Kristin C. as she recovers from complications after undergoing a heart valve repair surgery. For Rachel C. father, Mark, who had surgery due to infection and will need 3 months of bedrest to recover and for Rachel’s mother, Linda as she continues to recover from knee surgery.
📹 Are we ready to do live streamed services?
We have people who keep asking about when we’ll have it up and running. The short answer is: The equipment is ready. We just need people to take ownership of it. Ideally 3-4 people so that every Sunday at least one person is there. Please let a council member know if you are interested in volunteering to help.
Women’s Group - Will be meeting on Monday, September 14th, 7pm. Looking for a volunteer to host our gathering. Please let Deb or Rachel C. know if you are interested in hosting.
Mission Collection for LWMS ***A collection basket for the LWMS Mission offering will be out on the gray counter on Sundays 9/6 & 9/13. The missions are Home Mission Musical Assistance and to our World Mission for London and the United Kingdom.

A morning with our seminary president Pastor Earle Treptow, the president of our Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, will be at Ascension in Rochester on Saturday, September 12, to talk about our seminary with the members of our Red Wing Conference. Pastor Treptow will talk about the mission of our seminary, give us an update on how things are going, and tell us about an exciting construction project that has just started. We will begin at 10:30 AM with the presentation and discussion time. A lite lunch will be provided by Ascension. Please RSVP by emailing to [email protected]. Ascension is located at 2207 11 Ave SE.
