I know that it has been a while since I have shared on Facebook. We have been adjusting to our new lives here in the states, and just laying low for a time.
Well, we are long overdue for a Haitian Home of Hope update.
Haiti Home of Hope remains safe, peaceful, and very active, in spite of what is going on in other parts of the country. Pastor Clebert continues to run HHH and to direct the different programs that we have in place.
We currently have 15 children full time at HHH, and are focusing on finishing them well. We have 6 young people in university, living close to the campus. We also have one in trade school in Cap Haitian. HHH is fully supporting these young people, who will be transitioning out of HHH.
HHH now has 2 college graduates, 3 of our young people are married, and we have 3 HHH grand babies!
The food and milk clinic are still going strong. We are still caring for babies who lost their moms, many women still die in childbirth in Haiti. We are able to help these families by supplying them with powdered formula to keep these babies alive and thriving in their family home. We can have up to 30 babies at a time on this program.
We also supply food and supplements to malnourished children. We still help pay for medical care, when funds allow.
The scholarship program is continuing with 60 students this year, receiving full scholarships, plus books and uniforms.
The milk and food clinics, and the scholarship programs allow HHH to focus on family preservation and family empowerment.
None of this would have been possible without your prayers and generosity for these last 22 years! Thank you!
Even though we have left Haiti, there is much still happening, and much work to do! We still need your prayers and financial support. We have some exciting things happening, be watching for future updates!
