Today, families worldwide have an empty seat at their dinner table because a family member made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our countryโ€™s freedom.

Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten. Today, we pause to reflect on their selflessness and the profound impact they've had on our nation, and their families who bear the burden of their absence ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

What a beautiful and joy-filled Sunday here at St. Monica Catholic Church!

Today, we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, the First Holy Communion of Dallas and Caleb, and the 12-year anniversary of our beloved Pastor, Fr. Leonard. We are so grateful for fellowship, faith, and the opportunity to celebrate these special moments together as a church family.

A special thank you to our Praise in Motion Ministry for blessing us with a beautiful praise dance during service.

If you are looking for a church home, we would love to welcome you into ours. Join us for Mass every Sunday at 9AM.

What if two women, separated by 400 years and vastly different worlds, could speak to each other about faith, suffering, and transcendence?

A 16th-century cloistered nun. A Jewish-Catholic convert martyred at Auschwitz. Two souls who never met in life, now united in an extraordinary spiritual dialogue.

Still Point Theatre Collective presents "To Pray Marvelously Well" โ€“ a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that bridges centuries to explore how faith sustains us through humanity's darkest moments. Written by acclaimed Chicago playwright Jenny Magnus and brought to life by Lisa Wagner-Carollo (known for her world-touring performance in "Haunted by God: The Life of Dorothy Day"), this production asks profound questions about devotion, sacrifice, and what it means to maintain hope when everything is stripped away.

Director Virginia Smith masterfully weaves together these parallel journeys, revealing how two women from different eras faced remarkably similar struggles with faith and identity. Their stories remind us that the search for meaning transcends time, culture, and circumstance.

In an age where we're increasingly disconnected from our spiritual roots and from each other, this play offers something rare: a chance to witness courage, contemplate purpose, and reconnect with what truly matters.

Join us May 17 at 3:00 PM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 1616 Paseo, Kansas City. This is more than theater โ€“ it's an invitation to reflect on your own journey.

Limited seating available. Will you be there?
