Know What Leadership Is
Ezekiel 34:23
Bishop John L. Brown Sr.
Tonight’s Bible study reminded us that true leadership is not about titles, popularity, or control—it is about being chosen, guided, and led by God. In Ezekiel 34:23, God declared that He would set up one shepherd over His people to feed, protect, and lead them with care. Leadership carries responsibility, sacrifice, and accountability. A real leader must have a heart for people, a spirit of humility, and the courage to stand firm during difficult seasons.
We learned that leadership requires character before charisma. Godly leaders must be obedient, trustworthy, compassionate, and willing to serve others even when it is uncomfortable. Leaders are called to protect the flock, seek the lost, strengthen the weak, and lead by example. The lesson challenged us to examine our hearts and ask ourselves if we are leading God’s way or our own way.
Powerful reminder:
“Leadership is not about being seen—it’s about serving.”
