Por quienes trabajan en el transporte: camioneros, pilotos, ferroviarios, repartidores, almacenistas, auxiliares de vuelo, para que Dios les conceda gracia y seguridad, y conceda a sus familias seguridad y paz mientras están lejos de casa atendiendo las necesidades de los demás.

Declaración de los Obispos Católicos de Missouri sobre Inmigración (Resumen)

Con motivo de la Jornada Mundial del Migrante y del Refugiado, los obispos católicos de Missouri subrayan una verdad fundamental: toda persona ha sido creada a imagen de Dios y posee una dignidad inviolable.

• Afirman la necesidad de fronteras seguras para proteger al país.
• A la vez, expresan solidaridad con las familias migrantes que huyen de la violencia, la pobreza y la persecución.
• Piden a los líderes civiles una reforma migratoria justa y misericordiosa que combine seguridad y compasión, distinguiendo entre criminales violentos y quienes buscan un futuro mejor.
• Invitan a la comunidad a orar por los gobernantes y por los migrantes y refugiados, y a extenderles una mano caritativa en barrios, escuelas y parroquias.

Los obispos encomiendan esta causa a la intercesión de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Patrona de América.

Hispanic Heritage Month | Mes de la Herencia Hispana

En este mes damos gracias por el hermoso regalo de la herencia hispana en nuestra gran familia católica. Nuestra fe se enriquece con tradiciones llenas de música, comida, color y alegría. Desde los rosarios rezados con las abuelitas, hasta el mariachi en las bodas, pasando por los tamales y el pan dulce después de Misa… todo esto son signos del amor de Dios en la vida cotidiana.

Celebramos a los santos y líderes que nos inspiran, y también celebramos a TI, el testigo de fe, esperanza y amor en tu parroquia y comunidad.

Sigamos viviendo nuestra fe con sabor, corazón y alegría en Cristo Jesús. ¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!

This month we give thanks for the beautiful gift of Hispanic heritage in our Catholic family. Our faith has been enriched by traditions full of music, food, color, and alegría. From the rosaries prayed with abuelitas, to the songs of mariachi at weddings, to the tamales and pan dulce shared after Misa… these are signs of God’s love woven into everyday life.

We celebrate the saints and leaders who inspire us, and we also celebrate YOU, the everyday witnesses of faith, hope, and love in our parishes and communities.

This is the last week to register for the upcoming English sessions of the Catholic Social Teaching Certificate Program for Hispanic/Latino Regional Facilitators. There will not be sessions in English or Spanish in 2026. The Certificate Program will resume in 2027.

The USCCB's Secretariat of Justice and Peace collaborates with the National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors for Hispanic Ministry (NCADDHM) in offering a Catholic Social Teaching formation opportunity and advocacy training for directors/coordinators of Hispanic/Latino Ministry with the intent to facilitate regional leadership formation through a “Train the Trainers” format. The Catholic Social Teaching Certificate Program for Hispanic/Latino Regional Facilitators seeks to address several of the recommendations made by the V Encuentro National Process of Hispanic/Latino Ministry (2018) and Missionary Disciples Going Forth with Joy: National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry (2023) about the formation needs of Hispanic/Latino Catholics and to build on their understanding of and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.

“Y busquen el bienestar de la ciudad adonde los he desterrado, y rueguen al Señor por ella; porque en su bienestar tendrán bienestar.” —Jeremías 29,7

En este 4 de julio, reflexionamos sobre estas palabras y damos gracias por este país que tantos de nosotros ahora llamamos hogar.

Durante generaciones, los inmigrantes han llegado a Estados Unidos en busca de paz, seguridad y un futuro para sus hijos. En ese camino, han aportado su fe, su trabajo y su cultura, echando raíces profundas y buscando el bien de la nación a la que ahora sirven y aman.

Reconocemos que nuestro país no está libre de desafíos. Aun así, seguimos orando y trabajando por su bienestar, confiando en que al hacerlo, honramos a Dios y al don de esta tierra.

Hoy damos gracias. Por la libertad de adorar. Por la oportunidad de crecer. Y por el llamado a ser sal y luz en nuestras comunidades.

Dios bendiga a los Estados Unidos. Que siempre procuremos su bien. Feliz 4 de Julio.

On this Fourth of July, we reflect on these words and give thanks for the country that so many of us now call home.
For generations, immigrants have come to America seeking peace, safety, and a future for their children. Along the way, they have contributed their faith, labor, and culture, planting deep roots and seeking the good of the nation they now serve and love.

We recognize that our country is not without its struggles. And yet, we continue to pray and work for its welfare, trusting that in doing so, we honor both God and the gift of this land.

Today, let us give thanks. For the freedom to worship. For the opportunity to grow. And for the call to be salt and light in our communities.

God bless America. May we always seek its good. Happy Fourth of July!
