Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from Romans 4:13-25. Many think salvation is dependent upon us, what we think, say, and do. But God found a better way that is fair for all people. Salvation is by faith. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. Faith in God and His ability to save us becomes the guarantee we need. If our salvation was dependent upon our works, we could never have a guarantee, but because it is dependent on the works of Jesus, faith in Him becomes our guarantee of salvation.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from Acts 1:1-11. "It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority." Many times throughout history, people have predicted the timing of the return of Christ. The reason why God doesn't want us to know, is so that we don't procrastinate and try to ask for forgiveness at the last minute after living a life of licentiousness. He wants us to live every moment, as if it will be the last moment, to keep us on task and away from sin, always prepared (parable of the ten virgins).

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from 1 Peter 3:13-22. Moms suffer for doing good for their children. When you think about all the work mothers do: going through pregnancy and experiencing life altering things to their bodies, pain of childbirth, sacrifice of feeding, cleaning, nurturing and caring for children. Moms raise them and suffer worldly problems for the sake of their children. It is truly righteous for mothers to do this work, and "it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil." Keep going moms, you're doing God's will! And be sure to remember and thank your mother (if she is still alive) for doing God's will.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from Acts 6:1-9, 7:2a, 51-60. Stephen became the first martyr for Christianity, and those who were preparing to stone him laid their coats at the feet of a man named Saul. This is Saul who became Paul. Just as Stephen, a devout Jew, was able to start new and fresh with the forgiveness of Jesus and proclaim the faith of Christianity, Saul too would in the future be able to start new and fresh through the forgiveness of Jesus. This is how we live as Christians, starting new and fresh each day, confessing our sins, receiving forgiveness and then proclaiming Christ and Him crucified.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from John 10:1-10. The majority of people avoid walking through the door of salvation that You provide through Christ Jesus, the Shepherd of our souls. They rely on good works, generous giving, religion, and other means by which they might attain eternal life. But You have made it abundantly clear in the Scriptures and through the teachings of Christ, that the only way we can be reconciled to You, Father, is through Christ Jesus, who is the door to salvation.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from 1 Peter 1:17-25. Because of our sin, we gave ourselves over to the devil. Jesus ransomed us back from the devil. The word ransom is used both as a noun and verb. Noun: the payment itself, which was the blood of Christ, and the Verb: the act of paying for release, which was the suffering and death of Christ. Because of what Jesus did for us, in ransoming us back, or redeeming us as our kinsmen redeemer, we have been set free from sin, death, and the devil.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from John 20:30-31. All of Scripture points to Christ. God wrote the Ten Commandments, had Moses write the Torah, and had prophets write much of the Old Testament. He had disciples who wrote books in the New Testament, and all of these writings were meant for us. John wrote, "These are written so that you may believe. . . and that by believing you may have life in His name." All of it was written for us to believe in Christ.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from 1 Corinthians 15:3-11. The message "He Is Risen" resounds beyond the inner walls of the tomb where Jesus' body no longer lay, for it resounds in our hearts and soars within our spirits nearly 2000 years later. We serve a risen Savior who is in the world today, who dwells within our hearts, and who reconciles us to You, our Father in heaven. What a joyous and triumphant day we celebrate at Easter and every day as we acknowledge our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who died, was buried, and who rose again.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from Isaiah 50:4-9a. The word "vindicated" means: to clear, as from an accusation, imputation, suspicion, or the like. Jesus rode into Jerusalem as the King, but He was accused of many things. The people struck Him, spat on Him, and pulled out His beard, as described in Isaiah. But He trusted in God the Father, and He was vindicated, and now sits at the right hand of the God the Father. In the same way, our God will help us. For He who vindicates is near.

Hello Peace Family,

Sunday's Sermon text is from Ezekiel 37:1-14. The story of Ezekiel and the dry bones is a comeback story for the nation of Israel. When it seemed like Israel was done for forever, God raised them back to life. In the Gospel, Jesus raises Lazarus back to life. The comeback story for us is that even though we're sinners, God forgives us for the sake of Jesus and He will raise us up, just like those dry bones, and just like Lazarus. It's the ultimate comeback story for us..
