Our latest podcast on Spotify; Acts chapter 2

Acts chapter 2 is a shift between the OT and the NT. It is the beginning of the fulfillment of OT prophecies and is still happening today. In this lesson we begin to take a close look at the prophecy and its fulfillment and how it applies to us today.

Spirit led Bible Study. This is a recording of a Bible study with a group of people in a coffee shop. You will hear the ambiance of the coffee shop as we are led by the Holy Spirit in the Scripture, and truths are revealed as we go. This is not a prepared lesson.

The Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins [1 Corinthians 15:1-4]. The Bible says we have to "obey" the Gospel to be saved [2 Thessalonians 1:8, 1 Peter 4:17, Romans 10:16 | Notice the "Obey(ed) the Gospel in these Scriptures and NOT "believe"].
How do you "obey" a death, burial, resurrection"? Romans 6 tells us. We have to have our own Gospel experience. We have to undergo our own death, burial, and resurrection while doing this in faith in what Jesus did and that this acts of obedience to the Gospel to this will save us. See Romans 16:26 and note "obedience of faith". Also see James 2:14-26. Faith without action or obedience is useless.
We have our own personal Gospel experience when we die to sin (repentance), when we are buried (baptized in the name of Jesus Christ), and receive the resurrection power of Jesus when we are filled with the same Spirit that resurrected His dead body (enters us i.e., baptism of the Holy Ghost) [Romans 6:1-8, 8:8-11].

Praise God! We baptized 6 today, with two more coming to be baptized next week (couldn't do it this week). We baptized two last week, one receiving the Holy Ghost in the baptistry and the other the week before.

Romans 14:17 says, "for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.". When I am walking in the Spirit [Gal. 5:16] I am under the influence of the Holy Ghost, and I am being led by the Holy Ghost into doing God’s will. Doing God’s will is righteousness because all of God’s deed are righteousness [Psalm 145:17] and since I am doing His will I am doing His righteous deeds. This brings peace between me and God [Romans 5:1] therefore, the Holy Ghost leads me in God’s will and peace. This peace is my referee. It indicates to me when I am in and when I am not in the will of God [Colossians 3:15]. Doing the will of God brings peace because there is no conviction [Romans 8:1-2], no guilt. Doing God’s will bring joy like nothing else will [Psalm 40:8].
Thus, the Kingdom of God is being filled with the Holy Ghost [John 3:5, Acts 1:5, 2:4], walking in the Spirit [Gal. 5:16, Rom 8:14], fulfilling the will, or righteousness, of God having peace and joy. All this by the grace of God [Philippians 2:13]. This IS life abundantly! [John 10:10]. This I pray for and seek daily for there is no better life than this!
