What a fun day to return to Gashland UMC to preach and present them with a Missouri United Methodist Foundation ministry grant that will benefit A Turning Point and their cold winter shelter housed at Gashland. I’m so proud of this partnership of the church I used to pastor and the organization where I now serve on ther board! I was also reminded today that Gashland has some of the best people I’ve ever been in ministry with…pictured are a few, many were in worship! Love you all!

Most people make soup or chili during a Snowmageddon. We are having a Pringle-fest instead! So many flavors, so little time! We hope to discover our favorite by Monday.

My daughter told me she and her staff were dressing up as the Spice Girls for Halloween. I asked her to send me a picture and this is what I got! Thank you for making my day Dr Kate Hamm!

Today I’m with the Methodist Nomads! This is a fabulous group of retired Methodist who travel the country in their RVs doing mission projects. I’m at their annual meeting giving a Putting Your House (RV?) in Order workshop and talking about their endowment that is held at the Missouri United Methodist Foundation. For the record, I DID NOT CAMP with them. I found the only hotel in Shelbyville, TN instead.

I’m grateful for the wonderful man who married me 36 years ago today, the ways he’s filled those years with so much laughter and crazy moments*, and that we have the gift of growing together.

*Crazy moments like when our mortified pre-teen/teenage kids couldn’t believe we wanted our picture take IN PUBLIC in those hideous matching outfits! Little did they know that we would find even more ways to impose parental embarrassment on them for years to come!

✔️ Dinner and cocktails at Gus’s Dip and Sip (amazing!)
✔️ Strolling Michigan Avenue
✔️ Dessert and nightcaps at the Chicago Athletic Club
✔️ Caught in a massive rainstorm
⭐️ A priceless day spent with our son and daughter-in-law!

Kansas City friends, listen to this woman preach on Sunday at North Cross UMC located at 1321 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO (just outside Gladstone). Traditional Worship at 8:30am and 11am Contemporary Worship. Olathe friends will be in for a special treat as I have a story about my friend, mentor, and longtime Olathe resident HARLEY HASKINS in my sermon!

The Savannah Bananas did not disappoint! An incredible evening of baseball and entertainment! Adding Eric Hosmer, Moose Moustakas and Alex Gordon to the line up was an incredible bonus! Patrick Murphy also got to meet his hero, Jesse Cole (Owner).

Are you a Savanah Banana fan?? Patrick Murphy and I have 3 extra tickets to see the Savanah Bananas on Friday evening, May 23 at Kauffman Stadium. If you’re a Savanah Banana Fan and want to join us, tell us why you want to go to the game and (just as important) why you want to see the game with the Murphys! Post it here, message us or text us. If we have multiple people wanting the tickets, each one will go into a (banana) hat for a drawing. Entries must be made by noon on Sunday, May 18 and are open to friends and family near and far.

Patrick and I have never been to Albuquerque so we are posting this to document the event! We flew all the way here for lunch at a Panda Express when we have one a 3/4 of a mile from our home.
