Everyone knows that prayer is part of the Christian life and practice. What most do not understand fully is the depth of resources we appeal to when we make requests. The only way to access the fullness of what is available is to start from the right place, spiritually. When we do so, then we start to pray prayers like the one Paul penned to close Chapter 3 of Ephesians. In that prayer, you can almost feel his passion and sense his desire for all of his readers to be overwhelmed by God's goodness and power. The only way that the people of God can operate in a spirit of indifference is when they have no concept of what God is accomplishing through the Church. In Paul's pause in Chapter 3 of Ephesians, he informs his readers that the fulfilled mission of the Church affects change in the spiritual realm. That is a pretty big deal worthy of our attention and response. So, today we will turn our attention to it and ask God to burden our hearts for our role in it.

You will hear it in every church (or at least that is the hope): Jesus changes everything! One of the most compelling examples of Jesus changing everything is the Church itself. The Church is unique in a very specific sort of way that allows it not only to communicate the truth of the Gospel, but to serve, in its existence, as an example of the Gospel's influence. The Apostle Paul was so moved by it, that he stopped mid-sentence to reflect on it before continuing. We'll examine today what was so poignant to seemingly stop Paul in his thoughts.
