Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died,
whoever eats this bread will live forever." Jn 6

Prepare yourself to the best of your ability for the Eucharistic Banquet. Then when you have left the Holy Table, watch over your mind, your heart, and your soul.

2 Tm 4: 1-8/ Ps 71: 8-9. 14-15ab. 16-17. 22/ Mk 12: 38-44

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus,
who will judge the living and the dead,
and by his appearing and his kingly power:
proclaim the word;
be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient;
convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching. 2 Tm 4

Each day, let us read a verse or two of the Bible. Let us begin with the Gospel, let us keep it open on our table, carry it in our pocket, read it on our cell phones, and allow it to inspire us daily. We will discover that God is close to us, that he dispels our darkness and, with great love, leads our lives into deep waters.
Pope Francis

2 Tm 3: 10-17/ Ps 119: 157. 160. 161. 165. 166. 168/ Mk 12: 35-37

As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said,
"How do the scribes claim that the Christ is the son of David?
David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said:
The Lord said to my lord,
'Sit at my right hand
until I place your enemies under your feet.'
David himself calls him 'lord';
so how is he his son?"
The great crowd heard this with delight. Mk 12

After Holy Communion it is not necessary to think very much or speak much, but we must listen to Jesus, open our hearts to Him saying, “Jesus have mercy on me. Give me the virtues and the graces I need.” The best preparation for Holy Communion is a desire to live Christ’s life and the best thanksgiving is to reflect that our heart has become the sanctuary of Him Whom the heavens cannot contain.
Rev. François Delaplace, C.S.Sp.

2 Tm 2: 8-15/ Ps 25: 4-5ab. 8-9. 10 and 14/ Mk 12: 28-34

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David:
such is my Gospel, for which I am suffering,
even to the point of chains, like a criminal.
But the word of God is not chained.
Therefore, I bear with everything for the sake of those who are chosen,
so that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus,
together with eternal glory.
This saying is trustworthy:
If we have died with him
we shall also live with him;
if we persevere
we shall also reign with him.
But if we deny him
he will deny us.
If we are unfaithful
he remains faithful,
for he cannot deny himself. 2 Tm 2

The nation doesn’t simply need what we have. It needs what we are.
St. Teresia Benedicta (Edith Stein)

2 Tm 1: 1-3. 6-12/ Ps 123: 1b-2ab. 2cdef/ Mk 12: 18-27

I am grateful to God,
whom I worship with a clear conscience as my ancestors did,
as I remember you constantly in my prayers, night and day.
For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame
the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.
For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice
but rather of power and love and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord,
nor of me, a prisoner for his sake;
but bear your share of hardship for the Gospel
with the strength that comes from God. 2 Tm 1

I have asked the Holy Spirit to fill you with His gifts according to your need.
May the pure breath of this Holy Spirit animate your soul so that it may live a
life above poor human nature and find its joy, its consolation and its
happiness in God alone.
Rev. François Delaplace, C.S.Sp

2 Pt 3: 12-15a. 17-18/ Ps 90: 2. 3-4. 10. 14 and 16/ Mk 12: 13-17

Wait for and hasten the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens will be dissolved in flames
and the elements melted by fire.
But according to his promise
we await new heavens and a new earth
in which righteousness dwells.
Therefore, beloved, since you await these things,
be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace.
And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation. 2 Pt 3

Our labors are like a bit of heaven if we find the Will of God in them, while paradise itself would be laborious if the Will of God were not there.
St. Francis de Sales

June 1 Justin, martyr
2 Pt 1: 2-7/ Ps 91: 1-2. 14-15b. 15c-16/ Mk 12: 1-12

His divine power has bestowed on us
everything that makes for life and devotion,
through the knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and power.
Through these, he has bestowed on us
the precious and very great promises,
so that through them you may come to share in the divine nature,
after escaping from the corruption that is in the world
because of evil desire.
For this very reason,
make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue,
virtue with knowledge, knowledge with self-control,
self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion,
devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. 2 Pt 1

“All things work together unto good for those who love God.” Our good Master knows better than we just what it is we need. Permit Him, then to use the means He wants to further the work of our sanctification.

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. Jn 3

Would that we could live only for Him Who lives only for us in the Blessed Sacrament. The love of Jesus for us, and our love for Him—are they not the two wheels of every perfect Christian life?

Jude 17. 20b-25/ Ps 63: 2. 3-4. 5-6/ Mk 11: 27-33

Beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand
by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit.
Keep yourselves in the love of God
and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
that leads to eternal life.
On those who waver, have mercy;
save others by snatching them out of the fire;
on others have mercy with fear,
abhorring even the outer garment stained by the flesh.
To the one who is able to keep you from stumbling
and to present you unblemished and exultant,
in the presence of his glory,
to the only God, our savior,
through Jesus Christ our Lord
be glory, majesty, power, and authority
from ages past, now, and for ages to come. Amen. Jude 17

When your self love is wounded, accept this trial as a thorn from the crown of our Divine Savior. The more pointed the thorn and the deeper the wound, the more merit you will have.

1 Pt 4: 7-13/ Ps 96: 10. 11-12. 13/ Mk 11: 11-26

Early in the morning, as they were walking along,
they saw the fig tree withered to its roots.
Peter remembered and said to him, "Rabbi, look!
The fig tree that you cursed has withered."
Jesus said to them in reply, "Have faith in God.
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,'
and does not doubt in his heart
but believes that what he says will happen,
it shall be done for him.
Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer,
believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.
When you stand to pray,
forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance,
so that your heavenly Father may in turn
forgive you your transgressions." Mk 11

Pray with great confidence, with confidence based upon the goodness and infinite generosity of God and upon the promises of Jesus Christ. God is a spring of living water which flows unceasingly into the hearts of those who pray.
St. Louis de Montfort
