HCC Camp Closing for 2026 Camping Season.

It's hard to believe, but we have scheduled our camp closing service. It seems like only yesterday we were gathering for camp opening! We have had some unexpected events this summer (gas line replacement) but God is good and He is faithful to this ministry.

We would love for you to join us on Saturday, October 10th to celebrate our 2026 season. We will be gathering at noon in the dining hall to share one last meal together for the season. The camp will provide the main dish. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. We will have an informal service together following lunch. We will be worshipping and celebrating communion togther.

Can't wait to see you all there.

Good morning Highlander Camp Friends and Family. The HCC Board met last Thursday and we want to update you on some IMPORTANT information.

1. During our Annual Incorporation meeting that was held during camp, the following slate of officers was elected to serve for the 2026-2027 year.
Camp Director: Lenore Spaich
Assistant Camp Director: Wendy Spencer
Secretary: Sue Buchanan
Treasurer: Fay Spencer
Family Camp Representative: Tara Harper
Grounds Representative: Bruce Duncan
Member at Large: John Gillespie
Member at Large: Darlene Stevens
Member at Large: Paul Buchanan

2. Prior to our first camp this summer, the gas line had to be replaced. This was an unexpected cost in two ways:
a. A $6,000 cost that was unplanned for our expenditures
b. A loss of approximately $3,500 in revenue for the camp as the AEC group had to find another setting for their camp this year.
This brings the cost of this gas line project to about $9500 including the installation and loss of revenue.

There is some good news:
Donations of approximately $3900 have already been made toward the project.

Also, because of God's faithfulness, we were able to draw from savings to pay for the project.

However, this also means that other projects must wait until next season.

If you would be willing to pray and give toward the gas line project, you can give in two ways:
1. Write a check and include the note on the memo line - gas line project. All checks for the camp should be sent to:
Fay Spencer
HCC Treasurer
27 Orchard Street
North Chili, NY 14514

2. Give online at Tithely and include in the notes section what the donation should apply to.

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support of the camp.

Highlander Camp is already starting for the early birds. Last night, some families gathered for an impromptu potluck to meet the missionary. The evening ended with a trip for Gene and Bruce Spencer to country Pines for an ice cream.

Good morning HCC friends and family. Today is Monday, June 22nd. Two weeks from Friday we will be gathering for the first service of our Family cam 2026.

This morning I am reaching out with a special prayer request. As you know, we are a seasonal camp and rely on almost totally volunteer help for the caretaking and repair needs of our camp.
I am asking each of you to pray specifically for those who work so tirelessly on the grounds to prepare them for camp. They are a group who has extensive experience and are committed to our camp. These are people who work behind the scenes and who are charged with the safety and upkeep of all the many elements of our camp. They work to clear, clean up and repair (often working in the elements) because things like trimming and cutting trees and repairing lines are not fair weather issues.

I believe that God is even now preparing the hearts and minds of everyone who will be part of our camp this year.

Join me in praying...

Good morning HCC Friends. Today is Monday, June 15th. Three weeks from Friday, we will be gathering for the first service of the 2026 HCC Family Camp.

Friends have been gathering here for 80 years to worship, connect with family and friends and celebrate the goodness of God.
I, for one, can't wait to be there with all of you as we gather to worship.

This week our prayer focus is on the leaders who will be working with our children and teens. We are so thankful for all those from the tiniest little baby through our teens that are part of the HCC family each year.

As we plan, one of the first positions we pray about filling each year is those who work with our precious children. They are the future of the church, our camp and the Kingdom work.

This year, Pastor Josh Lehman and Pastor Damien DeGolier are joining us to work with the teens. Raychele Lehman and Hannah DeGolier will be leading the children's sessions in the morning and each evening for their worship time. Rounding out our God loving and exceptionally talent team is Kylie Gillespie with our preschool group.

We are so thankful for this multi-talented group of people who love God and love children and teens. They are all an integral part of our camp family. I would ask you to pray for each of them:
1. Pray as they prepare and plan for meaningful worship experiences, games and activities and fun times for their groups.
2. Pray for them during camp: for health, energy and endurance as they serve.
3. Pray for the hearts of each child and teen who will be participating in our camp. Pray that God will meet them, their individual needs and that each one will encounter and have a meaningful experience in their spiritual journey.

Wendy
