The 2018 School of Prophets at Shiloh is finally here! We are so excited for this much anticipated time together. Although the conference doesn't officially start until Thursday, we are already seeing new faces around campus. Many from churches in The Living Word Fellowship come out early in order to help prepare for this time both spiritually and physically. This is in addition to the hard work of the Shiloh church that has been preparing with anticipation for the past few months. [ 203 more words ]

I asked Andy Thompson, a young ministry in training here at the Shiloh church, to write a blog for Mother’s Day. We have tremendous mothers of faith in our midst and on this day we want to honor them and recognize the love and energy that they have put into growing up the children (including me!). Any excuse to thank moms is a good one! [ 430 more words ]

Here is the second part of Eileen Beran's account of their trip to Israel in February of 2018. You can read the first part if you missed it: A Short Summary of Our Trip to Israel – Part 1. A Window into Jesus Childhood at Sepphoris Another very impressive stop on our tour was the Sepphoris excavation, near Nazareth. Since the Nazareth of today is in no way representative of the town Jesus grew up in, we got a feel for Jesus’ surroundings and culture from this nearby Roman-, Jewish-, and Greek-influenced city. Sometimes we overlook this small but significant feast called the “Sheaf of the First Fruits” that occurs around the time of Passover. I asked Dr. Buckingham, a dean at Shiloh University, to write about what is significant about this feast for us. Sometimes I think about our constant efforts to purify our lives (“unleavened bread”). Oh, searching out my personal leaven is just maddening! [ 276 more words ]
