04-12-26 Who ... or what ... do we believe? Why? Here we are! We got where we are by various life circumstances, many of them totally beyond our control; and by various life choices, many of which have been "our" decisions.
We had no choice about where, when, or to whom, to be born, or about our race, nationality, or many of our biological traits.
Our life circumstances may have "taught" us that other folks are basically good, or basically bad, or our level of trust in others.
And we have been "taught" things about life by others, some of which we come to realize was really bad information; some we have come to realize was brilliant understanding and counsel.
But always there are different opinions about almost everything. Also, there is "something" within us that knows what is right, and what is wrong, ... and we have all done some right things, and some things we knew at the time were not right. Why?
Well, all men have an innate understanding that there is something unseen in the world that is more important than just what is seen. Hence all of recorded history shows that every nation or people group has had some sort of "religion."
Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe there is one God over all things. Christians believe God has revealed Himself to mankind in "nature," that is "Creation;" by prophets and teachers throughout history; through a set apart nation or "chosen people;" through the written record of these prophets and chosen people; and ultimately by Himself coming to earth as a man in Jesus the Messiah.
There is a wide body of evidence to establish this understanding of God and creation, but there is also something motivating rebellion and unbelief.
God's written record of His dealings with mankind, the Bible, tells us HOW things are, WHY things are, and every person's right and responsibility to respond properly to God. Some choose to believe God's account and the promises He offers to all. Others choose to reject His account and choose to believe any one of a thousand other ideas about life ... and death!
Flathead Ekklesia plans to gather in Kalispell at 10 am Montana time to look into a part of the mountain of evidence that validates the life, teachings, purpose, and promise of Jesus the Messiah so thoroughly described by 40 different authors over a span of 1500 years and giving the account of human life back to creation.
We plan to be live on Facebook, on You Tube, and on our website for anyone in the world (with access) to tune in to.
