Did you know?

Today is the historical Feast of the Seven Joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Also known as the Franciscan Crown, this traditional devotion invites us to meditate on seven joyful moments in Mary's life.

We recently celebrated the seventh joy—The Assumption and Coronation—honoring Mary being taken body and soul into heaven and crowned Queen of Heaven.

Today the Schola sang a different, yet equally beautiful, version of 'Cantate Domino' than what we usually hear.

It's a wonderful Sunday for this joy-filled motet...

"Cantate Domino canticum novum; cantate Domino omnis terra.
Cantate Domino, et benedicite nomini ejus; annuntiate de die in diem salutare ejus.
Annuntiate inter gentes gloriam ejus; in omnibus populis mirabilia ejus."

English -
O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the whole earth.
Sing unto the Lord, and praise his Name: be telling of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his honour unto the heathen: and his wonders unto all people.

Wishing you a blessed Feast of the Queenship of Mary and Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, today, August 22!

Today is the octave day of the Solemnity of the Assumption, honoring Mary's coronation as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her queenship is intimately tied to the kingship of her Son, Jesus Christ, serving as a reminder of her powerful maternal care, humility, and intercession.
The Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary celebrates and emphasizes how Mary’s immaculate, sinless heart perfectly prepared her body and soul to be assumed straight into heaven.

“Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, reigns with a mother's solicitude over the entire world, just as she is crowned in heavenly blessedness with the glory of a Queen.” - Pope Pius XII

“From Mary we learn to surrender to God’s Will in all things. From Mary we learn to trust even when all hope seems gone.” - St John Paul II

Celebrating the 'Vigil' of the Queenship of Mary and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with a look back at the Marian procession after 8 am Mass last Saturday, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary...

"Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!
In heaven, the blessed thy glory proclaim;
On earth we, thy children, invoke thy fair name.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!"

(Tomorrow, Aug 22, is the Octave Day of the Feast of the Assumption)
