The Missionary Church was organized in its present form as a result of the 1969 merger of the Missionary Church Association and the United Missionary Church. Both of these groups had their origins in revival movements that swept across North America in the late 19th century. Many of the earlier members were members of churches which had become caught up in a religion of form and tradition. The fla

mes of revival sparked a renewed dynamic and vitality that was not welcomed by leaders of their former churches. Under God's leading, they came together through a series of mergers covering nearly one hundred years. The story of these years is recorded in "Merging Streams" by Eileen Lageer. The Missionary Church, in obedience to Jesus Christ her Lord, is committed to being holy people of God in the world and to building His Church by worldwide evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication of growing churches, all to the glory of God. 1 Peter 2:9-10

KMC has been in existence in Kalamazoo for over 85 years. In 2012, KMC is committed to the authority Word of God as the place where it stands firm in a culture that is denying its relevance. We understand that it is not about us, and our call is to make Disciples, meet the needs of the poor and help those who have "shot" themselves in the foot. Also, it is our heart to plant more communities of faith as we do life together with those who are currently a part of this body and those are yet to know the Love of God through Jesus Christ. We belong to a group of churches in the Michigan Region and desire to develop a Mission District here on the west side of Michigan.

Take a moment this week to pause, breathe, and keep trusting in Him. 🌊
