A memorial service celebrating the life of Martin Schug will be held at Phoenix Community Church, United Church of Christ, 345 W. Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49007 (First Congregational Church building) at 3:00PM, Saturday, September 27. Visitation will follow the service.

Merry Christmas! Although we are really bad at doing social media, we really do love people (we love everybody and especially lgbtq+ people like us). So if you're sitting around Christmas Eve staring at your tree and thinking, hey, I want to get out of the house for a bit, then come join us for our 11 pm Christmas Eve worship service. If it helps, we'll have cookies after.

The Phoenix Book Study is canceled for tonight (Wed., Nov 6). Post-election, I’m not ready to return to a normal routine yet.

Instead, during that time (6 to 7:30 pm) I’ll be at the church if anyone wants to join me. I’ll either be in the sanctuary (if Tai Chi is done with their class) or in the Phoenix office downstairs. I’ll have Zoom on either way if you want to join that way. This will not be a time for conversation or problem solving (I still have no words of wisdom) but a time of prayer. Sitting in silence, reading scripture, listening to a favorite hymn, sharing if anyone desires to speak. We’ll be flexible and play it by ear. I’ll offer communion at 7 pm. If you or anyone you know wants to join me, you are welcome. If it doesn’t sound like your thing, that’s ok too.
