This so perfectly speaks the truth! It was written by a friend of mine.
No matter if someone's thinks that this picture has been doctored, altered or made up somehow. I felt that I needed to post this picture of George Floyds' son kneeling at the site where his father died and in light of the protests and riots that we shouldn't forget the horrific pain, anger, confusion and frustration that this young man must be feeling and that the nation needs to remember that although we are in need of healing and restoration that this young man needs our prayers, support and encouragement in the midst of a terrible tragedy and personal loss.
In the midst of my own tears and anguish, I have chosen to pray that this young man and his family will be sustained by the love, comfort, and grace of God, the Father in the midst of losing his own.
I pray that he will grow up and fulfill his God given destiny and purpose and that he will be a beacon of redemptive love, grace and forgiveness and will be able to demonstrate to his generation.
Secondly, I pray for our nation and that we your people O GOD, who are called by your name will humble ourselves and pray and seek your face and turn from our wicked ways and that YOU will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land. We pray that your eyes will be open and your ears attent(ive) to the prayers that have been made...2 Chronicles 7:14-15.
God we repent to our response to what is happening in our nation whether it has been our silence: our indifference; our status quo: insensitivity to injustice and inequality; our lack of prayer and intercession; our anger; our frustration; our backbiting; our finger pointing and our own inability to believe that YOU alone God are our answer; our hope; our source and that you Lord Jesus are the Way, Truth and Life and that you Holy Spirit are our Advocate and Teacher and inspire and remind us that you alone are in control. Thank you Lord!
