One of the biggest things I took away from SBS was that God’s plans for us aren’t always easy , but they are always meant to draw us closer to him. This past week has been a transition for me, because God suddenly changed my plans. I will no longer be joining my team in Asia, but I will instead be staying here in Hawaii. This summer I will be staffing a Chinese American youth camp, and taking a season of rest with the Lord. There are many personal reasons for this change, but God knows what I exactly what need right now, and I know that his purpose is to draw me closer to Him. In the fall, I will be taking a course with YWAM called Counter Culture Apologetics. This school was made for SBS graduates to take all the knowledge we’ve learned from the Bible, and apply it to the cultures today, equipping us to defend our faith and communicate it well with others. I am praying about the outreach that is offered with that course, that will be putting what we learn to practice in the nations.
I would like to thank all of you for your support and prayers in my journey. Please continue praying for me during this season, and the team as they go to Central Asia. If you would like to know specifics on what to be praying for please reach out, I would love to share with you! The support I have raised specifically for Asia outreach has gone to my team, and will be put to great use as they teach the Bible in unreached areas of Central Asia. I am expectant for what God has in store with these changes, and I am so thankful for all of the support along the way. 🩷

UPDATE: Melissa is fully funded for her outreach deposit!!! Thank you so much for everyone who has supported the both of us!
Our next goal is $4000 by July 1st, to cover the rest of our outreach costs. This will cover food, housing, and other expenses for the 2.5 months we will be on our missions trip.
I have been so blessed to have so much support from my friends, family, and church. God has always provided throughout my YWAM journey!
My friend Melissa is from Chile where fundraising isn’t as common as it is in the states, but she has had full faith that God would provide and he has been so faithful so far! She is so appreciative for all of your support and prayers!

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!
Soon I will have to shut down this page and black out all my social media platforms. This is to keep my team and I safe in the nation we are going to in East Asia. I still want to keep you all updated, so send me your emails so I can add you to my mailing list for updates along my journey! You can message me on here, my personal page, or text me.
With that being said, I can’t believe SBS is almost over! We have read through and studied all but 9 books of the Bible at least 5 times! It is amazing how much I’ve learned, and grown in my faith in this season of being so emerged in the Word of God. When we graduate at the end of June, we will have a couple weeks of lecture to prepare us to teach the Bible in the nations. We will be in East Asia for almost 3 months sharing what we’ve learned in the Bible with people who are very new to Christianity. Please be praying for safety and provision for my team!

It’s hard to believe that I have been in Kona studying the Bible for almost 6 months already! I am so thankful that I chose to dedicate this 9 months of my life to study God’s Word! I realized it has been awhile since I have posted an update, and I apologize for not keeping you guys updated with my journey! This school has been one of the most challenging, yet rewarding things I have ever done. I have learned so much about time management, and dedication through this school.

So far, we have gone through almost the whole New Testament (saving Matthew and Revelation for last), the Pentateuch-Kings, and now we have started on the prophets. We go through each book at least 5 times with our inductive study method! After our first out loud read, we have lecture, and research the historical background so we can get in the mind of the original audience and readers. Studying from the point of view of the authors original intent is so important to keeping the Bible in context! Then we chart each chapter, diving deep into each paragraph. We look at the literary context, historical context, make observations, ask questions, and interpret the Bible from the perspective of the original reader/audience! After interpretation, we pull out timeless truths that are true for all people at all times!

The last step is most important, we take these timeless truths and apply it to our lives. We ask what changes we should make in our lives in view of these timeless truths, and find a practical way to apply it to our lives right now! My life is being impacted so much by studying the Bible and forming my own beliefs, straight from the Word of Truth!

The next step after SBS is outreach. We will be taking what we have learned to the Nations, and teaching the Bible to people who desperately need someone to show them how to understand the Bible. My team is going to east Asia! I have a big heart for this part of the world because it is unreached with such a small percentage of Christians, and such a big need for someone to teach them the Truth of the Gospel.

While we are preparing for this mission, please keep my classmates and me in your prayers to be able to do everything God has planned for us. Our goal is to know God, and make him known! I am so thankful for my SBS family and this beautiful time in my life to study the Bible on this Island. God is so good! Week One of SBS!! 🥳🥳🥳
The first week of the next 9 months is gone, and I already have so much more understanding of the Word! So far we have gone through the book of Titus and Galatians with our inductive study method, reading it over 5 times and charting so we can understand the context, who the author was talking to, the history of Paul, so we can understand what it means for us today! We go through phases of observation, interpretation, and application so we can have a deep understanding of each book before we move on to the next book! I started this school because I wanted to go from familiar, to fascinated with Jesus.. and let me tell you, I am becoming more fascinated and infatuated with him the more I read to understand his love letter to me! I already have so much more understanding of his grace, living in faith, and his deep love for us! The message of the gospel is so real, and I can’t wait to learn even more about it so I can share it in the nation! Thank you so much to everyone who made it possible for me to be here, and for your prayers for God to give me the grace to be able to study his word during this season!!
