Today, our parish gathered for the blessing of the Phanouropites in honor of St. Phanourios. ☦️

Each year, the faithful bake Phanouropita in his honor, traditionally asking for his intercessions to help reveal something that has been lost: whether an object, an answer, or guidance in our lives. The phanouropites are then blessed and shared with others as an offering of faith and thanksgiving. 🙏🏼

As we enter September in a couple of days, we also welcome the beginning of a new Ecclesiastical Year! ☦️

With a new church year comes the return of our Holy Cross ministries and programs. We’re excited to begin another year of growing together in faith and community.

We invite our families to join us on Sunday, September 13th as we kick off a new year of Sunday School, including a special Blessing of the Backpacks for our children as they begin the school year. 🎒🙏

What an incredible weekend! 🇬🇷💙🤍

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, performer, vendor, parishioner, and guest and, of course, to Fr John- who made this year’s Holy Cross Greek Fest such an amazing success.

Whether you spent months planning behind the scenes, worked long hours in the kitchen, served food with a smile, danced on stage, welcomed guests, donated supplies, sponsored the event, or simply came out to support us- we couldn’t have done it without you.

To our sponsors: thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our community.

To our volunteers: your dedication, hard work, and joyful spirit are what make this festival so special year after year.

And to everyone who attended: thank you for sharing in our traditions, enjoying our food, and making memories with us.

Training starts young around here. ☕

Our youngest “barista” may still be perfecting his craft, but the coffee you’ll get at Greek Fest is definitely worth the trip! Pair it with homemade Greek desserts or the delicious food.
