I've watched men get baptized who weren't sure God would take them.

They came to the water half-believing.
Still carrying the weight of what they'd done.
Still waiting for the moment God would look at their file and say "not you."

He never did.

That's not because God is soft on sin.
It's because the cross already handled it.

The hardest thing for a person with a real past to accept isn't the punishment.
It's the grace.

Punishment makes sense to people who feel guilty.
Grace doesn't.

Grace says you're not defined by the worst thing in your file.
Grace says the price was paid before you knew you needed it.
Grace says the Father ran toward the prodigal before the son finished his speech.

You don't have to finish your speech.

You don't have to have the right words.
You don't have to have cleaned it up first.
You just have to turn around.

He's already running.
