Hey Church! Bishop David Wilson has appointed me to the pastor of Lyona UMC for another year! I'm excited for all we will do furthering the Kin-dom of God right here in our piece of Kansas and the world! I also got to shake Bishop Wilson's hand as a first year Local Lisenced Pastor. Thank you, all, for the opportunity to serve!

🌞 From Pastor Whitney: Today is the last day of Annual Conference and my heart is overflowing. As a church, joined with our sister church, have learned about evangelism, church business, and how to serve joyfully. And that is the word I would use to describe Annual Conference 2026- JOYFUL! It has been a joy to spend the week with our friends serving in ministry together. We have bonded over dinners, shared stories, and laughter. I'm excited to come home and do more of that with members of our church and community. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your pastor. It is a joy!

🎣 What a beautiful day for fishing! Lyona UMC hosted it's first Geary State Lake Fishing Tournament this morning. The day started out with fishing lessons and meeting new friends. The kids fished and caught all sorts of fish (and one snake!). The event ended with prizes and lunch provided by Hyvee in Manhattan, KS.

🙏 A big thank you to all our volunteers who planned and worked to make the tournament such an amazing event. Thank you to the families who came out and had a good time. Thank you to all the law enforcement who made sure our children stayed safe on the waters. Thank you Hyvee in Manhattan for a tasty lunch. Thank you to Lyona UMC members for your love and care for our community.
