"But Peter and the apostles answered, 'We must obey God rather than men.'"
Acts 5:29
In today's verse we see the apostles taking their stand for God. They were told, not to preach, they preached anyway. Jesus had told them to go forth and spread the Gospel. (Mark 16:15-16) Even if it meant being executed, they chose to obey Jesus. One day in our lifetimes or our children's, we may have to choose between listening to man or obeying God. When that day comes you can't straddle the fence. What side will you be on? - A. Lewis

"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Do not be anxious." Matthew 6:24
Be careful how far up you place money on your priority list. We all know in today's world, you have to have money. But are you just as busy chasing the Lord as you are a dollar? One thing is for certain, you cannot take it with you when you go. Make sure you're setting your eyes on the One who truly matters. Jesus paid the ultimate price on your sins which is worth far more than all the money in the world. -A. Lewis

"In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?" Psalms 56:4
Are any of my problems so big he can't handle them? Is it anything he hasn't seen before? Has he stopped taking care of me yet?
Speaking for myself, I worry and stress over every little thing. If I already know that God has handled it, why do I worry?
Today take a minute and remember that whatever you're facing isn't more than God can handle. He will give you rest when you are weary. He is our strength. When we give our worries over to him, they're handled. Remember that. - A. Lewis
