😂 FUN FRIDAY: Marriage is humbling.

One morning I woke up, rolled over, grabbed my pillow…

…and threw it across the bed.

Unfortunately, it landed directly on Nathan’s face. 😳😂

I immediately apologized.

I’m pretty sure my apology sounded something like:

“I’m sorry. It’s time to get up anyway.” 🤷‍♀️😂

After talking about it later, I realized something:

If Nathan had done that to me, I probably would’ve been mad ALL. DAY. 😂

Which led me to say the words every spouse should probably think about occasionally:

“I could not be married to me.” 🤣

Marriage will expose your hypocrisy, your impatience, your weird habits…and apparently your terrible pillow-throwing skills.

But thankfully, God gives us plenty of opportunities to practice grace, forgiveness, humility, and laughing at ourselves.

📖 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32

Okay, your turn: What’s something your spouse does that would drive you CRAZY if you did it to them? 😂👇

Have you ever sensed God leading you somewhere before you understood why?

“Just Ask”

Your spouse loves you—but still can’t read your mind.

Unspoken expectations create frustration. Instead of hoping they’ll figure out what you need, try saying it clearly.

James 1:19 reminds us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.

Healthy communication starts with honesty, humility, and actually asking.

👉 What did you have to learn to say instead of expecting your spouse to know, or is there something you should share with them now?

😂 FUN FRIDAY: Are you a LIGHTS ON or LIGHTS OFF person? 💡

In our house, this is apparently a very serious issue. 😂

I like the lights on. Like… LET ’EM SHINE! ✨

Nathan prefers them off because apparently the pennies we may or may not save by turning off our energy-efficient LED bulbs might one day pay for the kids’ college. 😂🎓

I actually feel like having the lights on helps my mental health, so I turn them on like I’m preparing the house for a Broadway production.

One weekend, we were staying in a hotel. Before we left the room one evening, I started turning off all the lights.

Nathan looked at me and said:

“I don’t know why you’re turning lights off like you pay the electric bill here when you’ll leave every light in the house on at home. You’re just like, ‘Let ’em shine!’” 😂😂

We laughed SO hard.

And honestly… he’s not wrong. 🤷‍♀️😂

So settle this for us: Are you a LIGHTS ON 💡 or LIGHTS OFF 🌙 person?

And if you’re married… which one is your spouse? 😂👇

“Bear with each other.”
Sounds great… until you’re actually trying to bear with each other. 😂

Colossians 3:12–14 calls us to compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness—and above all, love.

So what does that look like at home?

❤️ Taking a breath instead of snapping
❤️ Giving grace when someone has a rough day
❤️ Choosing forgiveness over keeping score
❤️ Remembering: we’re on the same team

👇 Fill in the blank:
This week, my family needs a little more __________.

Patience? Grace? Forgiveness? Coffee? ☕😂

Most parenting triggers aren't surprises.

You probably already know yours.

The question is:

What if you prepared for them before they happened?

What's one parenting trigger that tends to push your buttons?

Share yours below. Chances are, another parent can relate.

Marriage Monday 💍

What’s one little thing your spouse does that makes you feel loved?

Maybe it’s making your coffee.
Sending a “thinking of you” text.
Always warming up your side of the bed. 😂
Or knowing exactly what snack to bring home.

Sometimes the little things aren’t so little. ❤️

Jennifer’s: Refilling my drink when Nathan Ross notices it is empty, without me even asking.

Nathan’s: When Jennifer Ross randomly shows me affection.

Tell us yours!

🚗🥤 Okay, we need to settle an important marriage debate. 😂

If you and your spouse are riding in the car, which cup holder do you prefer?

FRONT or BACK?

But wait…what does “front” even mean? 🤔

Is it the one closest to the people in the car?
Or the one closest to the front of the vehicle?

Nathan and I once had a tiny communication breakdown over this. 😂

I told him my preferred cup holder was the back one. I thought he hadn’t heard me.

Turns out, he heard me just fine. We were just using two different definitions of “front” and “back.” 🤦‍♀️😂

And for the record, I’m working with T-Rex arms over here, so cup-holder distance matters. 😂🦖

Isn’t marriage sometimes just realizing, “Ohhhh…THAT’S what you meant!” 😆

Your turn: Which cup holder do you prefer? And what’s a ridiculously small misunderstanding you and your spouse have had that you can laugh about now? 👇
