Jesus healed ten people in one moment.

Ten lepers. Completely restored. Their skin, their lives, their families waiting at home. All ten received the miracle.

Only one came back.

And Jesus asked a question that has been echoing for two thousand years.

Where are the other nine?

We read that story and think how could they not go back. How could you receive something that extraordinary and just keep walking.

And then we look at our own lives.

The morning we woke up and our heart was still beating. The relationship that was restored when it should have fallen apart. The moment that could have gone a completely different direction and somehow did not.

We received the miracle. And we kept walking.

Everything Hallelujah is not a feeling. It is a decision. It is turning around and saying I see what you did. I know where that came from. And I am not walking past it without stopping to thank you.

Paul and Silas were not having a tough week.

They were beaten. Bleeding. Chained to a prison wall at midnight.

And they sang.

Not when the chains came off. Not when the door opened. Not when the situation got better.

They sang first.

And Scripture says the other prisoners were listening. The guards were listening. The whole prison heard two men choose worship over complaint in the darkest moment of their lives.

And then the earth shook. The doors flew open. The chains fell off.

But the praise came before the breakthrough. Not because of it.

That is what grateful in the dark looks like. It is not pretending everything is fine. It is knowing who God is when nothing is fine.

Whatever your midnight looks like right now. Worship before the breakthrough.

The walls of Jericho did not fall and then the Israelites praised God.

They praised God and then the walls fell.

Seven days of marching. Seven days of silence. Looking like they had completely lost their minds to everyone watching from above.

And then a shout.

And the walls came down.

Everything around us says wait until you see it. Wait until the situation changes. Wait until the diagnosis improves, the finances turn around, the relationship heals.

But Scripture keeps showing us people who praised God before the evidence arrived.

And the evidence always came.

Your wall is still standing. But so is God. And He has never lost a battle that was preceded by genuine worship.

And that was enough.
