Peace Church Cemetery

Peace Church Cemetery Founded in 1855, Peace Church is one of Jasper County, Missouri's oldest cemeteries.

The old Peace Church Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Jasper County covering five acres of land. The land was originally donated by Robert Jesse Dale in 1856 and is the final resting place for as many as 2,000 southwest Missouri pioneers and family members. The graves of veterans from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, both World Wars and Korea can also be found in the cemetery. Records of volunteer groups taking care of the overgrown cemetery date back to the 1920’s.

2026 Spring Workday photo dump! Special thanks to Carl Junction High School JROTC-Air Force for tackling leaves, leaves, and more leaves, but we're now ready for this year's mowing season! We reestablished another walkway that hasn't been seen for many years. This walkway connects to the main cemetery road a little closer to our parking area in the meadow just to the south of the cemetery. It also connects to our other walkways. We are always excited when another task is accomplished that brings easier accessibility to more parts of Peace Church Cemetery!

Our mowing season is just around the corner! It only takes about about 90 minutes every two weeks to help keep the cemetery looking beautiful!

We are in need of some volunteers that can bring their mowers and help us maintain the cemetery. We have areas available for riding or push mowers. If you, or your organization, would like more information about how you can give back the community, please message us and we'll be in touch!
