Thanks Denna Sexton Howard for the first of my "positive words " for 2023 ....DETERMINATION!
Determination's definition is firmness of purpose: resoluteness.
In meditating upon the positivity of this word for me, my main goal is to be resolute in my study of the Bible and my prayer life in 2023. This is certainly tailored for me, because my Word-of-the-Year continues to be GROW. It continues from 2022 because evidently the Father needs to do some more work in me. Maybe I'm just a slow learner! Thank you Denna for helping me to go after it with a firm purpose! Special prayers for you today my friend. 💗

It has come to my attention that incorrect information is floating about on Facebook concerning the POWELL RIVER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION COMPASSION CENTER (aka clothing ministry). A FB user has stated that the PRBA throws away a lot of what is received. If you or anyone you know has ever volunteered in a clothing ministry, you have no idea at the amount of donations that are received that are not usable. Therefore, for public information, we DO NOT keep any items that smell of human urine or f***s or show evidence thereof and the same with animal/pet waste; things that are left wet; molded and mildewed items; items that are stained, torn, have improper working parts like buttons, zippers, etc. Some of our clients want discarded tee shirts and the like for rags and we save those for them. It should also be known that our VOLUNTEERS will go above and beyond the call of service to take some really nice items home to treat, wash, and dry only to return them to the center for our clients. We are here to serve our community by helping in a time of need. We want them to be able to find quality clothing items and that's what we stock for them.
