Thank you to everyone who participated in our very successful yard sale the past two weekends. Our yard sale proceeds go to the future church building and upgrades on the site of the yard sale I hope as you shopped or delivered items for the sale you took a moment and looked down over the hill at our shed and playground that was completed with donations and yard sale proceeds. This building has been very important as we have met there for worship many Sundays.

Our yard sales are also a mission project to our community. Early in our preparation a family lost their home to a fire. They were able to come and get clothing to get them through this rough time. Please continue to pray for them.

A nurse who works each week with the homeless in Johnson City came and got shoes and socks for the men. She said they walk about 3 miles a day some using cardboard and newspaper for shoes. She especially needs larger shoes up to a size 17 for men. If you wear larger shoes and are reading this please let us know if you have extras to share.

Another man asked us to pray with him and the team gathered around him for prayer. Because of an automobile accident he went from a $1000 a week income to a $1000 a month income. He is going into the hospital this week for surgery. Before he told us his story he purchased a love seat because his sofa was deteriorating. He did not have a way to get it home. So Jerry delivered it to his house. We quickly loaded a chair to go along with the love seat with our blessing to his family.

As people shopped on their canes, walkers, wheelchairs our people were there ready to assist. Our young people were there to load furniture and packages. Working with this team was wonderful. Our friends Bill and Billie and Donna and Tammy fed us wonderful food.

I have heard so many compliments of our church family. And the sweet lady and her three companions, who told me I didn't look a day over twenty and told me she loved me many times and her mother in heaven loved me because I gave her a coffee mug still puts a smile on my face. God sent these special ladies to us. We each had a different story to tell about them.

Some thought this was a flea market rather than a yard sale. Others asked what happened to the left overs. The clothing went to another clothing mission project in the area. The other items will be distributed to other mission projects in the area.

Thank you so much for supporting our mission projects. God has richly blessed us. If you did not participate you missed a blessing. Lord willing you will have another chance next year. Hope to see you then. Saying thank you seems so small for all the work, donations and new friends we made. But may God bless and protect you over the coming days, weeks and years.

When the survival of King Jehoshaphat’s nation was at stake and his people were in danger from their enemies, he called for a fast. The people sought the Lord and His help—and He delivered them. Today, our nation is at a critical juncture. We need to call out to God for His help, His intervention, and His mercy. It is only by His hand that America will survive and be able to thrive again. We have an election coming up with so much at stake—two vastly different directions for the future of this country. This not only affects us, but our children and our grandchildren.

“And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord” (2 Chronicles 20:3-4).

I am urging followers of Jesus Christ to fast and to pray for our nation next SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25. Mark it on your calendars and prepare now. I hope individuals, families, and churches will join me in asking for the Lord’s help and for His will to be done in this critical election. Will you?

Hi y’all-

As I’m sure you all know, nobody has been allowed in the hospital to see mom or Allan, and they are being contained in closed off rooms that are very isolating. Some of you have asked, and we’ve been trying to think of ways to help encourage her through this since we’re unable to be by her side, and figured some cards of encouragement might help!

We confirmed with the hospital that we are allowed to send cards, care packages, flowers, etc. so I wanted to share the info in case any of you want to send a note of encouragement!

(FYI, if you’re local, you’re allowed to drop things off at the front door but they will not let you in.) Send or have delivered to the following address:

Jackson Park Church YOUTH CLUB NEWS:
I am excited to announce that after several months of not seeing most of our Wednesday night kids.
This WEDNESDAY September 9th, 2020 FROM 5:30 - 7:00
WE WILL HAVE A DRIVE THRU YOUTH CLUB PICK-UP SESSION.
EACH CHILD WILL BE GIVEN A LUNCH BAG OF SNACKS, AND A GIFT BAG WITH A BIBLE LESSON , BIBLE STICKER BOOK FOR THE YOUNGER CREW AND ALSO SEVERAL EXTRAS. THE OLDER KIDS WILL ALSO RECEIVE A LESSON WITH APPROPRIATE EXTRAS. Each bag will have an update letter explaining our plans for this fall.
