This week, we are honoring Diane Davis. Diane is the mother of one of our graduates, and we hope her story brings you deep encouragement. We pray that any mother, grandmother, or sister out there who may have lost hope because of a loved one's addiction reads this and is reminded that Jesus can restore what the locusts have stolen.
Addiction doesn’t only steal from the individual; it steals from the entire family. Likewise, Jesus doesn’t just heal the person in addiction, He heals the family, too
1. How did you hear about Breaking Bonds?
We heard about Breaking Bonds from the Metcalf’s of Leachville and their son Gene Metcalf.
2. How did you see God move when your son entered Breaking Bonds?
God brought our son back to us with a grateful heart and appreciation for family and others. God brought us all closer together as a family unit. Through His Word, we all found more grace, mercy, love and discipline. He reminded us all that we can’t do it on our own, that we need Jesus Christ in our lives, every second of every minute of every hour of every day.
3. What is some advice you would give a mom who is going through with their child, what you went through with your son?
For all of you mothers, I want to say- don’t ever give up hope. While we suffer and hurt and stress and worry over our son, Jesus is there waiting for us to reach out and call His name. I read on a billboard one day, “ worry about nothing, Pray about everything”. It’s hard not to worry, and it’s hard to find trust in your son, but we must put our faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus and believe in His healing, His miracles and His love. He will give us strength and He can heal our sons and broken relationships and addictions. We must put our trust in Him always. And remember to praise Him and give Him all the glory. We need to let our sons know that we are there for them at any time day or night. I want my son to know that I love him more than anything and at the end of my life, there’s one thing I want him to remember, the thing that will matter most to me is that he never had to question my love. That his mom was always his person he could count on.
Lead by example and never give up hope!!
Breaking Bonds Ministries holds a special place in my heart. This journey of recovery, the staff members that lead these men and genuinely care about their salvation, the stories shared, the tears, the smiles, the growth, the encouragement not to just the men who enter the program, but for us mothers and fathers and other family members too, the work in motion by men of faith teaching and praying for all who enter the program. You definitely feel the love and presence of Jesus in everything, including the songs and music at the worship services. Thank you Breaking Bonds for taking my son Kevin into your program and helping him break those chains but also for strengthening and making new bonds of friendship, family , and most importantly, with God!
There is hope
There is freedom
There is a new life, and it’s all found in Jesus’ name.
We have beds open if you want to take the next step.
