Beginning Our Lady’s month with May Crowning! Our Novices processed in and crowned her while we sang the beloved hymn, “Bring Flowers of the Fairest.” Blessed Mother, pray for us! 💐🙏

RIPPLE EFFECT: As we celebrated the funeral mass for our beloved brother James yesterday at the Abbey, Abbot Elijah reminded the community of the important witness of religious sisters in the life of the Church. It was the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters of Jonesboro, Arkansas, who taught the young Homer Lindsey at the school in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Their witness, their prayers, and their inspiration led him to become Brother James Lindsey of Subiaco Abbey. In turn, Brother James, through his ministry of prayer in education, parochial work, and retreat ministry, inspired and accompanied thousands of people as they sought to learn about Jesus Christ and deepen their faith. The ripple effect from the witness of those sisters echoes for generations yet to come. We were honored to welcome Mother Mary Clare and Sister Thérèse of the Holy Angels Convent in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the funeral celebration. We snapped a photo of Mother and Sister with a few of our academy students who had been serving as altar servers. Father Reginald photobombed the encounter. For those called to the monastic life of prayer and to our ministries, it is an immensely fulfilling way of life. For that we monastics (women and men), proclaim: UIOGD!
