Spiritual growth is rooted in your mind! I see so many young minds unable to process the Bible into their everyday life. They read but do not understand and then more often than not the Church says something like, “Just let the Holy Spirit guide you or help you to understand.” I believe this to be bad advice for young minds seeking a meaningful relationship with God. The struggle is in the mind and the only way to change and understand is to fill the mind with the word and when you don’t understand seek out a spiritual leader to explain the word helping you, to not only understand the word, but apply the word in your life changing your speech, your desires, thinking, and actions so that God finds you acceptable. Don’t expect this to be an immediate transformation but a gradual process leading you over one obstacle at a time. Don’t become frustrated at your failures get up dust yourself off reach out to God for more strength to battle Satan. Remember this; the depth of your battle is but a reflection of the size of your victory through Jesus Christ. Failure is not a disqualifier but a reminder that the grace of God holds you in the palm of HIS hand.
It is imperative to persevere through the sin battle and the hardship ahead of you always reaching beyond yourself drawing spiritual power from the throne of God. You do this by staying in the Word of God daily, even when you don’t understand always asking for enlightenment from a spiritual leader. The more you read and apply to your life the stronger you become.
It is imperative you pray every day thanking God for the work HE is doing in you. Prayer is a lifeline and at times you will feel as if God is not listening do not trust your feelings but know that God is listening and working in you to keep you and make you an overcomer. Maintaining a strong relationship with God is done not though your success, though that will come, but by knowing God is faithful to abide with you and in you. No matter what is going on in your life God will use your failure, your struggles, and eventually your successes, to mold you into a strong man or woman of God.
It is imperative you stay connected to a local Church letting the brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage you, teach you, and support you in your faith journey. The Church (the body of believers) is not there to condemn you but to lift you up even when you fall into sin never let Satan convince you of the Church’s condemnation. We are all sinners saved by God’s amazing grace.
