I have a question I am hoping a Friar or priest, Deacon could answer. Why isn't penance mentioned in group talks or homilies any more? We live in a very self centered world today, maybe we could offer penance up in small ways to start off such as something that we don't like doing but needs to be done like laundry, doing dishes, or going back out to the store because we forgot something and offer it up to the Lord for the conversion of sinners. I think that could help us to start connecting with people again and being more considerate of others. The Blessed Mother asked for us to pray the Rosaries for this and if you can't do 5 decades start out with 1 and maybe the next time while your driving you can do 2 or 3 especially for those road rage drivers. There are many things we can offer up to the Lord besides conversion of sinners. For those in Purgatory, Atheists, families in distress and estranged etc... I would love some feedback, thank you and God Bless you and keep you!
