What’s most important to you when planning for your family’s future?

A lot of people only see the service. They don’t see everything that happens behind the scenes to make sure a family’s loved one is cared for with dignity and respect.

Yes, sometimes you’ll hear laughter. Not because we take the work lightly, but because after spending our days around grief, loss, and difficult moments, we still have to be human. We support families during some of the hardest days of their lives, and we support each other too.

Every burial represents a life lived, a family that loved them, and a team working together to make sure everything is done right.

This is a glimpse behind the scenes of what we do every day.

Did y’all know you can actually pre-plan your funeral and cemetery arrangements ahead of time?

I work in the funeral industry, and honestly, most people I talk to didn’t even know that was an option.

A lot of families think all the decisions get made after someone passes, but many people choose to handle things ahead of time so their loved ones aren’t left stressed, guessing, or trying to come up with money unexpectedly.

I’m curious—did y’all already know that was possible?

Today we honor the men and women who served our country with courage and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

As the flags fly across our cemetery, we remember the hundreds of veterans laid to rest here and the legacy they left behind. Their service, sacrifice, and stories will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, we invite everyone to pause, reflect, and honor those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Most families don’t avoid pre-planning because they don’t care.

They avoid it because they think talking about it somehow brings it closer… or they feel like they still have more time.

But avoiding the conversation doesn’t create control—it creates uncertainty for the people left behind.

I’ve seen the difference firsthand.

One family is grieving while trying to figure out finances and arrangements under pressure.

Another family is grieving too… but they’re saying:

“Thank you for planning ahead.”

Completely different experience.

That’s why I always say:

Don’t let superstition give you the illusion that you’re in control.

Preparation isn’t negativity. Preparation is love, clarity, and responsibility.

If you’ve ever thought about pre-planning, even briefly, that’s usually a sign to at least get information.

Somebody said, “Y’all could at least wash it first” 😂

But once a double-depth lawn crypt comes out the ground just to go right back in the ground… it’s basically like washing your truck before driving through Georgia red clay again.

Most people never get to see the behind-the-scenes side of cemetery operations, but there’s a whole process to making sure everything is handled correctly and respectfully for families.

Most families don’t avoid planning because they don’t care. They avoid it because nobody ever sat down and explained the options clearly.

Had a great time speaking at our Advance Planning Workshop and helping families better understand funeral, cemetery, cremation, and veteran planning before a difficult moment happens.

These events are always a great reminder of how important it is to slow down, build relationships, and talk about what truly matters—like planning ahead and taking care of our families.

Grateful for everyone I met today. More conversations and community moments to come!
