Refuge Recovery Church A Church Created BY the Recovery Community FOR the Recovery Community….Families recover together, heal together, and grow together

Today, we remember the cross.

We remember the weight Jesus carried, the suffering He chose, and the love that held Him there. What looked like loss was actually a turning point. What felt like silence was not the absence of God, but the unfolding of His plan.

Good Friday brings us face-to-face with the reality of death. Not just His, but the death of sin, shame, and everything that once held us captive. At the cross, Jesus didn’t just endure pain, He put to death the power those things had over us.

For many of us in recovery, that truth hits close to home. We know what it means for something old to have to die so something new can begin. The cross is where that transformation started for all of us.

But the story doesn’t end there.

The grave could not hold Him. What was buried did not stay buried. And because Jesus rose, we don’t just have forgiveness, we have new life. Real freedom. A future that is no longer defined by our past.

This is the movement from death to victory.

So today, we reflect. And this weekend, we celebrate the life that only He can give.

From all of us at Recovery Church, we’re praying you experience both the weight of His sacrifice and the power of His resurrection in a fresh way.

He is risen. He is risen indeed.

With love,
Recovery Church Movement

Join us FRIDAY 630pm at Refuge Recovery Church
We’re celebrating Birthday Night and honoring lengths of sobriety with powerful story of freedom and God’s faithfulness. 💛

“Self-pity is one of the most unhappy and consuming defects that we know. It is a bar to all spiritual progress and can cut off all effective communication with our fellows because of its inordinate demands for attention and sympathy.”

When we let go of self-pity, we make room for gratitude, connection, and real spiritual growth. Recovery happens when we stop seeing ourselves as victims and start seeing ourselves as responsible, hopeful, and empowered.
Come be part of what God is doing freedom, fellowship, and faith all in one place. We can’t wait to see you! 💙🔥

It’s simple… but it ain’t easy.

All day long, we’re making choices—
not just big ones, but small, quiet ones no one sees.

Will this choice bring me closer to God or pull me further away?

Will it move me toward my goals or back into old patterns?

Will it strengthen me or slowly hinder me?

Growth doesn’t usually happen in one big moment.
It happens in a thousand small decisions.

We are always moving in one of two directions:
improving or regressing.

The choice is ours!

So TODAY, ask yourself:
👉 What choice can I make TODAY that will change my tomorrow?

Paul traces a progression: suffering leads to perseverance, perseverance builds character, and character generates hope. Notice that hope is the end product of a process that begins with pain. We often want to skip straight to hope without walking through the refining fire. But authentic hope—the kind that doesn't disappoint—is forged through trials. Your suffering today is producing something valuable for tomorrow.
Prayer:
Father, I want to bypass suffering, but I trust Your process. Use my current struggles to develop perseverance, strengthen my character, and deepen my hope in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
How might your present difficulty be producing something of eternal value?
