A Final Invitation: Join Us as We Celebrate the Legacy of First and Santa Cruz Lutheran Church of Joliet
It is with deep sadness that we announce that First and Santa Cruz Lutheran Church of Joliet has come to the final days of its congregation. After much prayer, discussion, and consideration, we have been forced to make the heartbreaking decision to close our doors.
Despite our hopes, dreams, and efforts to overcome the challenges we have faced, we have not been able to overcome the obstacles before us and can no longer sustain the ministry financially. This decision was not made lightly. In truth, we held on as long as we could, believing and hoping for a different outcome.
As we prepare to close this chapter of our church history, we warmly invite you to join us on these final Sundays as we celebrate the legacy, faith, fellowship, and ministry of First and Santa Cruz Lutheran Church.
We are honored to have Vicar Brandon Fuhr guiding us through these final weeks. His support, leadership, and compassion have been a tremendous blessing during this difficult time.
We are also pleased to announce that Pastor David Vidler will be sharing God's Word with us on September 6 and again on September 13, which will be our final worship service.
Celebration of Our Legacy
Following our final worship service on September 13, we invite everyone to join us for a Celebration of Our Legacy. This will be a time to gather as a church family, share memories, reflect on God's blessings through the years, and celebrate the impact First and Santa Cruz Lutheran Church has had on our community since its founding.
All are welcome to attend and enjoy fellowship and food with us as we honor the many years of faith, service, and ministry that have been shared together.
Our hearts go out to all those we have not been able to reach personally. We pray that the Lord will comfort, strengthen, and guide everyone affected by this decision.
