Before you close out your week… pause for a moment.

As mental health professionals, we spend so much time holding space, listening deeply, and showing up for others.

But here’s the question we don’t always ask ourselves:

Where are you in all of this?

Faith-based self-care isn’t about doing more.
It’s about returning.

Returning to stillness.
Returning to truth.
Returning to the part of you that is not defined by how much you give.

You are allowed to rest without earning it.
You are allowed to pause without explaining it.
You are allowed to be held, just as much as you hold others.

As you move into the weekend, don’t just disconnect from work…
Reconnect with yourself.

✨ Take 5 minutes today:
Sit in silence.
Breathe slowly.
Ask yourself—What do I need right now?

And give yourself permission to honor the answer.

Your calling was never meant to come at the expense of your peace.

As mental health professionals, it’s easy to slip into overfunctioning…
Showing up. Giving more. Carrying more. Holding space—often without noticing when it starts to cost you.

But there is a difference between calling and obligation.
Between being led… and feeling responsible for everything.

Sometimes what we label as “commitment”
Is actually exhaustion in disguise.

Faith-based self-care invites a different question:
👉 Is this aligned… or am I overextending?

You are allowed to:
• Rest without guilt
• Set boundaries without explanation
• Show up without overgiving

Your role is meaningful.
But it is not your identity.

Pause for a moment today and ask yourself:
Where am I operating from—calling or overfunctioning?
