Mary Jane W. donated this collapsible wagon to help Minga Hospital transport supplies within the hospital and also from car transport into the villages. It has side pockets etc and can hold a lot of items. The hospital is thrilled. Thank you for your generosity, Mary Jane!!

Today the hospital staff went to Chipata to purchase 12 wheelchairs. They could only buy 6 because of the cost. Wheel chairs cost $133.00 each.

This is beyond the cost of our designated 2023 project. I wonder…could you donate for a wheelchair? If so, please place it in an envelope and write your check out to St Paul’s Church -Chipata wheelchair. How many wheelchairs can we purchase for these kids??

Out shopping for necessities for the project. Today Fr George and 6 “Trainers” made a practice stove. Tomorrow we will train 3 villages of men and women who will also hear Fr George’s talk before hand. People are thrilled with the impact that the project will make on their lives.

Today has been really busy. I just had a 2nd talk with Fr George about our forthcoming project. He is most positive/excited about the impact which it will make. I also spoke with the lead physician about the project and many ideas were exchanged with proposals about how to go about implementing the project for the greatest impact. I also addressed the hospital staff this morning to introduce myself and briefly explain my mission here and hopes to improve the health of mothers, grandmothers, and children by reducing smoke emissions from cooking fires and burns on children from those fires. We hope to have our education talk and demonstration of building Improved cookstoves to villagers either on Saturday or Monday.

Sr Asperanza took me for a short walk. We visited some of the lodging for people who work here.
