Hosted by the Brownstown Improvement Group with prizes compliments of Riek's of Brownstown.
This year, as America celebrates 250 Years of Freedom, we invite the residents of Brownstown
Borough to step back into the spirit of “Decoration Day”, the tradition that later became Memorial Day, by honoring our nation, our history, and those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.

From porches dressed in red, white, and blue... to historic tributes, patriotic gardens, vintage Americana, waving flags, lights, bunting, and heartfelt displays of remembrance… we encourage the community to bring the stars and stripes to life in a way that tells a story of freedom. 🇺🇸✨

Because nothing says “American spirit” quite like turning your front yard into a patriotic masterpiece worthy of a bald eagle flyover. 🦅

Prizes Awarded For:

✨Stars & Stripes Showcase
Awarded to the display with the strongest overall patriotic presentation.
🏅 Prize: $50 Lowe’s Gift Card

✨Spirit of ’76 Creativity Award
Awarded to the most unique and creative patriotic display.
🏅 Prize: $25 Lowe’s Gift Card

📍 Open to Brownstown Borough residents.
⭐️Winners will be determined by community voting. Must be located in Brownstown Borough to enter. A map of participating house will be shared so you can drive or walk around, enjoy, and then vote.

A Proclaim! Magazine tradition continues with the recognition of evangelizing young adults from around the diocese, as nominated by pastors or other leaders. This year’s “Faithful Under 40” class is the largest one yet with 19 individuals and two couples being celebrated. Read about their dedicated service in parishes, Catholic schools, or the wider Church in the spring edition of Proclaim! Magazine, on its way to registered Catholic households in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.
