Will Rogers said: “So live that you wouldn’t be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip.”
I remember in the book of Acts when Peter and John were dragged before the religious big shots of the day.
There, in front of the religious leaders, who just a few months before, many there had conspired to have Jesus arrested and killed. And right there is Peter and John.

Peter is the uneducated fisherman with his extremely aggressive personality, ( probably alot like a construction guy or two I've worked with) Peter just weeks earlier had passionately denied that he even knew Jesus. And John the same type of uneducated, tough fisherman, confronting the religious leaders with the gospel.
And in that scenario, ironically an educated DR named Luke writes in Acts, what he witnessed..... check this out.
(Acts 4:13)"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus”.

Thankfully the good Dr, respected thier godly character and wrote it down!
Being with Jesus had changed them, and that change was seen by everybody who knew them. And my friends being with Jesus will have the same effect on our life, and our character.
As a child my sister and I watched the life of my spirit filled father radically transformed. It was then I decided I wanted that experience as well! Folks that's the greatest lure to win some one to Jesus Christ, and thats the best bait to a world to draw the hungry, to a life with meaning.
I'm convinced, the biggest reason unsaved folks reject true Christianity is not on the basis of doctrine. I believe the biggest reason that folks reject true Christianity is the inconsistent, ungracious, and ungodly lives of supposed followers of Jesus.
Why would the lost want to become a flaky Christian, when supposed Christians are worldly unkind, or cheat their employers, get a divorce, maybe addicted to p**n, watch television programs that are trashy etc.
You could say that the only difference that the unbelievers notice is that so called Christians lose sleep-time on Sunday morning and when they hit a bible study Wednesday night.
While I'm on the soap box, I see folks be kind to stranger's but distant, critical and unkind to their own family. I've seen preachers only be kind to potential parishioners or ministers that can directly benefit them.
My friends shouldn't our unsaved loved ones, ministerial associates, see Christ Jesus and his character and unconditional love demonstrated through our behavior towards them?
Just because we have unmet expectations of our unsaved Family members, it doesn't justify acting offended or being short and rude to get our point across, and it certainly wont win anybody.
Here's the deal, whispering critical backstabbing, strategic digs, and a cold stiff demeanor will NOT put on display the love that caused our Lord and savior to hang on a cross and give his life.
Have we forgotten so soon the pit we were dug out of? Jesus teaches us to to love the unlovable and to love without hesitation, forgive relentlessly, and give without expectations, to be kind and tender hearted. Always manifesting in our body the very life of Jesus!
I remember a group of unmerciful pharisees in the bible who had rocks in their pockets, but when the powerful statement of Jesus rang out "he that is without sin cast the first stone " all they could do is walk away in shame.
We all need to remember the compassion of Jesus! But sadly many times we dont consider the impact of our behavior on others..........
Jesus said it this way: in (Matt 5:16) "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” .
My dear friends 90% of those who actually read this will think of someone they know, and never even consider the possibility that they may have tainted their own testimony with these very things. The Bible warns us of folks who will look in a mirror, walk away and forget what manner of person they are. ....
So, what kind of testimony do we REALLY have today, if it is darkened by sin, oh my friends let's repent quickly to God. Then just as quickly let's run to those whom we've hurt and make it right.
Dont you think that would be the greatest light of all to saved and unsaved alike!
Regardless Remember as purveyors of truth we are to be like a city on a hill, a light in a dark room. ..soooooo......Lord let our light SO SHINE!
P.m me I'll pray with you
