IF GOD WROTE A BOOK, wouldn’t you want to read it?” -T.Merida Pastor Aaron Taylor took some time to scroll through the chapters of Nehemiah 8-10. Here’s what we discovered.

This past weekend we celebrated 5 weeks of the goodness of God. A reminder of the providence of Yahweh over our ordained footsteps towards Reclamation Church.

Five weeks.

One million prayers of supplication, which is humble asking of God, “what do You have next for me, Lord?”

The people had just finished the great project of completing the wall in Jerusalem. One of the greatest efforts ever seen that mobilized the families and an entire community.
Fifty-two days.

They held tools in one hand and weapons in the other. They worked for fifty two days amid enemy terror and schemes, while resisting and dealing with the internal turmoil that comes when humans come together in any large-scale project.
But in Chapter 8 we see the people quiet their tools within the safety of the new wall and they gathered to give thanks to their ‘great and awesome God’.

It just happens that the day Reclamation Church began its first Sunday morning services, September 13th, would have been the exact timeframe, on the 25th day of the seventh month of Elul, just 2,470 years prior, that the Bible tells us Ezra the scribe, stepped out amongst the families to read the scrolls of Moses aloud over them.

GODS WORD, sharper than any two-edged sword, the inherent and inspired words of God given to men who walked faithfully with God.
Upon its reading….

• The people were hungry for the WORD OF GOD. God who ordained this moment that these families now gathered together, after 70 years of captured exile.

• The people repented in response to THE WORD of God being read. Finally, an obedient generation not seen since the days of Joshua!

• The people rearranged their lives due to the movement of GODS WORD upon their hearts. It affected change in them as they looked at themselves through this ‘spiritual mirror’. They proclaimed, “we will not neglect the house of the Lord!”

If that’s not Gods providence, if that’s Gods divine and calculated timeline, if that’s not telling enough of the God we serve…..we don’t know what else is.

We stand in awe of what God has done as we are reminded through HIS WORD and we are confident that He will do the same work of miraculous change within us, if we would only be the obedient generation He’s called us to be!

Only when you stand in the strength and might of the One True Living God can you accomplish a work such as this. The returning Jews didn’t just accomplish their mission but they thrived in the work. We still can’t get over how God used a cupbearer to mobilize a rag-tag group of families and an entire community of people to rebuild a fortified and effective wall.
Tools in one hand, weapons in the other, determined to finish this wall for the lives of their families.
How far would you go to ‘Take Back What the Enemy Has Stolen’ from your family?

Don’t be afraid of the enemy, remember the Lord who is great and glorious and fight for your them!

❤️‍🔥The enemy of this world and of our souls does NOT get to define you!
If God can rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in Nehemiahs day, than He can rebuild the temple of your life. You are never beyond saving!
❤️‍🔥When we remember who God is we recall the words from this chapter….say them out loud into the enemies territory and stand in faith…
REMEMBER THE LORD WHO IS GREAT AND AWESOME!
