🚨Due to the storm damage and ongoing clean up, we are cancelling both services this weekend.

As many are still without power, please continue to check on your neighbors.

We are extremely grateful for the lineman, municipality workers and everyone working around the clock to clean up trees, storm debris, and restore power.

Please stay safe! We’re all in this together!

Most of us want relationships to be fixed or reassembled with friends and family. We don’t like the tension, living with the guilt, or pretending. And as it turns out, we’re really only as happy as our core relationships are healthy.

As we talked about before, the goal with relationships is not reconciliation, because we don’t control the other person. The goal is no regrets. The goal is to know we did everything we could.

Reconciliation requires four decisions. The first decision we talked about over the weekend is: I will get back TO, not back AT.

If we are to have the same mindset as Jesus in everything we do, including our relationships, we can’t seek revenge, be happy when bad things happen to them, or simply ignore them. We put aside our pride, and make a move towards them. Because that’s what God did for us.

Repairing a broken relationship always begins with us, regardless of who created the fuss.

If you have a hard time doing this, start with this prayer, inserting the name(s) of whoever comes to mind:

“Heavenly Father, help me to see ____ the way you do. Help me to feel toward ____ what you feel.”

Forgiveness does not repair a relationship.
It prepares us to begin the process.

But we should remember the goal with relationships with people is not reconciliation either. We can’t control them. The goal is NO REGRETS. The goal is to know we did everything we could. I kept the door open, the welcome mat out. I removed all the obstacles and did everything to take the pressure off the other person.

We are to do for others what God through Christ did for us in all things, including our relationships. God wasn’t content to simply forgive us. He moved to reconcile with us.

One thing we all have in common: we are far better at starting relationships than fixing them when they break.

So if you have a relationship that could use some fixing, this weekend we’ll tell you how to get started and why it’s worth the effort in our message series “Reassembly Required”.

In Paul’s absence in the coming weeks, this series will be shown as a video series. We hope to see you there!

You were created to do something good in the world, and for the world. You were created on purpose, with a purpose. Don’t let excuses hold you back.

You have no idea what’s waiting on the other side of your paper walls. Save this prayer for the next time you find yourself hiding behind excuses.

“For we are God’s creation, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
