Here we go again! I don't take Covid lightly it is real and for many very dangerous however here comes another round of what we experienced last year. A large percentage of those alive today, especially locally, have never dealt with anything such as Covid! I have seen fear at a new level. The question has been coined to me more then once since last year, " Is this about the End times"?
I'm very cautious about prophetic things and what I say and how I present it. Their has been more junk and just plain false information published over the years on Eschatology or end time events. First let me say if anyone gives a specific date on the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, don't give them the time of day! They do not have that insight an insight reserved for our Heavenly Father only. I can't without certainty tell you this is a sign of the last days. Jesus told the disciples a very simple principle of end time gauging. When you see these signs know you're in the season. When the leaves turn colors and begins to fall from the trees we know it's Autumn, and when the trees are bare and snow is on the ground you know it's winter. What I'm telling you is I believe we are starting to get into the season when things are beginning to happen. If you want a real litmus test of prophetic things always keep an eye on Israel and what is transpiring there. If you do a study of the Seven Feasts of Israel I believe they are a picture of our redemption but also of God's prophetic timeline. Passover Jesus died, our salvation, feast of unleavened bread(without sin) planted into the ground. First fruits He is resurrected and become the first fruits of God's resurrection. (I Corinthians 15:20). Fifty days later the Holy Spirit is poured out on Pentecost birthing the early church. All of these have been fulfilled but the last three are yet to come. The next is the Feast of Trumpets, the shofar is sounded and and everyone goes to the Temple immediately stopping what they were doing. Sounds like the Rapture of the church. The next is the day of Atonement, where the High Priest enters the Holy of Holies once a year with blood to make atonement for the sins of Israel. If Passover was for our salvation then what is the Day of Atonement? National Israel has yet to recognize that Jesus is the Messiah. They will recognize Jesus as the Messiah during the Tribulation period which coincides with the Day of Atonement. The last is the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles. This Commemorates the booths they dwelled in while in the Wilderness. Temporary dwelling places that I believe commemorates the Millennial Reign or thousand year reign of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Some may disagree with me but that's okay. Be like the Bereans which said they were more noble because they searched the scriptures to see if these things be.

In my personal study time, I spend a great deal of effort in the Old Testament simply because it speaks so much of Jesus. The Tabernacle screams of Christ and His ministry to mankind. The Ark of Noah's day clearly shows God's great love and grace to humanity. When God told Noah to pitch the Ark from within and out, we think of tar being applied to waterproof the vessel and properly so. However the word pitch also means atonement or covering revealing the Spiritual aspect of what God was doing. Recently I've begun a study in the book of Joshua. The very name Joshua jumps off the page at you. The Hebrew language has no "J" in it so properly said, Joshua should sound like, Yehoshua which means "Jehovah is salvation." If you anglicize Joshua and say it in the Greek is says, "Jesus." Joshua 20: 7-8 there are six cities listed which are referred to as "Cities of Refuge." What many Christians don't recognize, their were actually thirteen tribes not twelve. If you remember Joseph had two sons Ephraim and Manasseh which would account for the extra tribe. When Joshua was leading the nation of Israel into the land promised by God twelve tribes inherited a specific area of land except the tribe of Levite. The bible says that "God was their inheritance." They received 48 cities and 6 cities of refuge. The general purpose of the cities of refuge was to give or measure out justice. The Ten commandments does not say thou shall not kill but correctly stated it says thou shall not murder. That word really means first degree or premeditated murder. We understand today that when murder occurs that is not premeditated or first degree we call it manslaughter. Unwittingly an individual kills someone that is not first degree but neither is it self-defense. The person who committed the manslaughter could run to the nearest city of refuge and take asylum and that city was obligated to give them refuge and care. What was he running from? The "avenger of blood" the next of kin or gawl in the Hebrew. If the avenger of blood could reach him before he entered into the city of refuge, he could avenge his relative and slay the culprit. We know the death of Jesus was premeditated murder, by the corrupt priesthood of the time, and even by the Father and Son themselves. They agreed that He would in the fullness of time take on the form of man and be crucified to appease God's righteous and Holy justice. In Luke 23:34 Jesus says to the Father, "Forgive them for they know not what they do." What He said was, " They unwittingly did this thing called murder because of sin." The First degree murder was changed to man-slaughter and we qualified to run to the city of refuge. Now it's interesting to note that when the person who committed man-slaughter ran to the city of refuge, he was completely exonerated at the death of the High Priest. Jesus was nailed to a cross for our sins but He said, Father forgive them for they know not what they do and we have been forgiven and set free. He is our High-Priest!

We are getting ready to celebrate Independence Day in this nation. Two hundred and forty five years ago we declared our nation a sovereign country, and what a nation this is! I proudly salute our flag and all those who served in the past and those who serve now in our nation's military! While we definitely have our problems this is still the greatest nation in the world, made up of every race, culture and nationality just about known to mankind. For over two centuries we've figured out a way to make this thing called Democracy work. While I have my opinions like others do, I realize that in order to have a true Democracy, the arena of ideas must be for everyone not just a specific few. God said in His word that each one of us were "fearfully and wonderfully made." That means that we all have worth and value and are created, (not evolved from Apes) in His image with a God-given Spirit/Soul and plan for our lives. I believe God raised up this nation to first be a friend of Israel and secondly to be a beacon of light around the world. There are other reasons but time doesn't permit at this moment. Our founding fathers, yes flawed, were men and women of insight, passion and committed to the great idea of a nation where we could pursue God by the dictates of our hearts and dream to have a future where men and women of every nation could come and build a life worthy of our great calling. No, we are not perfect, yes we have made our mistakes, yet show me a nation anywhere that hasn't made it's own mistakes. I heard a funny statement but so true. It goes like this, "You know how you can tell the difference between a rich American and a poor American? A poor American has to wash his own Cadillac!" What other country on the scale of America affords every person an opportunity to live a life of freedom, joy and prosperity? However let me say this, we are given an opportunity not guaranteed success, not entitled but merely the freedom to pursue our dreams and goals! When I was younger and involved in sports, we won games and lost games. We won championships and lost championships, and in it all it taught me about life. Sometimes I will succeed and sometimes I will not but I learn from each situation and grow from my victories but really more from my failures. I hope and pray that this Fourth of July you will celebrate with this understanding in mind that God raised this nation up for such a time as this. God Bless America and America give thanks unto your Maker!

What does it mean to have a Christian World View? I know that even among Christians and Christian Churches this definition is going to vary, unfortunately to much so. I believe if you are going to have a true Christian world view then you must believe the Bible as the Inspired, Word of God! I'm sixty-one years old and I believe and rely more on this book than ever before. I believe every word from Genesis to Revelation and that it's principles are infallible and predictions are true. I cannot have a true Christian world view if I choose to believe one part but not another! We either believe God created Adam and Eve and the two began mankind as we know it or we believe something else. If you don't believe the bible's account you cannot say you have a true Christian World View. There are parts of the bible that are more difficult to understand and a challenge to acknowledge but we don't discard it or add something in it's place. God knows what He is doing and doesn't need us to add to or take away from His truth called The Bible. While it's setting yes is ancient, it's truths and principles are timeless and appropriate for any age. In the book of Second Thessalonians chapter two it talks about a great falling away before that man of sin is revealed, the anti-christ. Falling away here is the Greek word Apostasia which basically means a defection from the truth. Those participating in is defection were not necessarily deceived but willingly left it for another set of paradigms. The longer I serve the Lord Jesus Christ the more I realize you either believe the Bible and it's truths and love and cherish them and live and prosper from it or you will eventually flee from it's unpopularity among the masses of society. How quickly Christianity in this country has become unpopular and how fast a Book once so revered (Bible) has such a disdain in the highest offices of our land. I challenge you Men and Women young and old to hold fast in your faith and do not compromise your belief in the Word of God. The things I hear ringing in pulpits in America I cry over because they want to change God's word and compromise it's truths to make it more palpable to an unbelieving world. A young seminary student once said to G. Campbell Morgan, " If the church is to survive it must catch the spirit of the age. No my son, if the church is to survive we must change the spirit of the age." How do we do that? By truly believing, living and adhering to the Bible and being salt (preservative of truth) and light( the direction to travel). We are living in a world that desparately needs Godly leadership and people who know who they are in Jesus and where they are going.

I want to say, "Thank You", ladies for all that you do! Mother's Day is a very important day in my opinion. The ladies that have been in my life have made such an impact on me. My grandmother who was one of the Godliest people I have ever been around. My Mom who loved me no matter what and last and definitely not least, my wonderful wife of almost thirty-nine years, Deborah. Together we have birthed and raised seven children, whom I'm very proud of. I've watched as my wife cared for and selflessly gave of herself to our children. She has been a shinning light in my life and an example not just to our children but myself as well. Ladies I want to honor you and say thank you for your tireless efforts in being Mom, Mother, Mommy or whatever terms of endearment are used. I think you would have to step down to be President of the United States, that's how important mother-hood is. There has been a direct assault in our nation to down play the position of Mother-hood and I for one believe there is no more important job! Remember the saying, "He who rocks the cradle rules the nation."
Ladies our children need, love, discipline, structure and consistency the very thing so lacking in a great deal of homes today! I have nothing but respect and appreciation for our Mothers!
