NEW BIBLE STUDY STARTING: ROMANS

St. Paul’s letter to the Romans has been at the center of reflection, conversion and controversy from the very beginning. Romans is widely regarded as the most theologically important of St Paul’s epistles. Romans: The Gospel of Salvation is a new eight-week Bible study we are offering that will help you make sense of the difficult passages regarding faith, works of the law, and justification. It will give you an authentically Catholic, comprehensive and simple way to understand this challenging epistle. Above all, this series will help you to enter into a more meaningful relationship with Christ. We will be offering two different sessions. The first will meet in person on Monday mornings (starting on January 15) from 10-11:30 AM in the St. Mary's church kitchen. The second session will meet on Tuesday evenings beginning on January 16 from 7:30 – 9 PM on Zoom from the comfort of your own home. Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation by Dr. Andrew Swafford (Benedictine College) and Jeff Cavins, followed by a time of lively, small group discussion and fellowship. Another fruitful meeting with this busy group! The parish generously supported the Baby Bottle drive and Box of Joy program, raising over $2,700 for the Pregnancy Help Center and providing approximately $4,400 in gifts for less fortunate children. Thanks to all who supported these efforts! We are now gearing up for the Solemnity of the Parish Dedication - Holy Mass, dinner/presentation - on Friday, December 2, beginning at 6pm. We concluded the meeting with the Holy Rosary in the day chapel.

St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women (CCW) invites all ladies of the parish to its upcoming monthly meeting. We will be preparing for the Box of Joy service project, a Christmas gift outreach that blesses children suffering from extreme poverty by sharing the joy of Christmas and planting seeds of hope through the Gospel. CCW will be assembling the boxes and creating a display in the gathering area to kick-off the project after all weekend Masses on October 22/23. Casual dress is encouraged and feel free to bring along any Christmas decor you have readily available to enhance the display!
