๐Ÿชจโš”๏ธ Heroes vs. Villains: David vs. Goliath

๐Ÿ“– Bible Story: First Book of Samuel 17 โ€” David and Goliath
๐ŸŒŸ Take Away Point: God is bigger than any giant!
๐Ÿ’ช Life Truth: I can have confidence knowing God is with me.
๐Ÿง  Memory Verse: Epistle to the Romans 12:21: โ€œDonโ€™t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.โ€

Everyone was afraid of Goliath ๐Ÿ˜จโ€”except David. David knew that the battle belonged to God! ๐Ÿชจโš”๏ธ Even though David was small and Goliath was huge, God gave David courage and victory. This story reminds us that with God on our side, we can face any โ€œgiantโ€ in our lives. ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Family Discussion Questions
โ“ Why were the Israelites afraid of Goliath?
โ“ Why wasnโ€™t David afraid?
โ“ What did David say about God before the battle?
โ“ What are some โ€œgiantsโ€ kids might face today? (fear, bullying, worry, peer pressure)
โ“ How does knowing God is with us give us confidence?
โ“ What does Romans 12:21 teach us about overcoming evil?

๐ŸŽฏ Family Activities

๐ŸŽฏ 1. Knock Down the Giant Game
Stack cups or boxes to make a โ€œgiant.โ€
Let kids toss soft balls or bean bags to knock it down.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Each time they throw, say together:
โ€œGod is bigger than any giant!โ€

๐Ÿฆธ 2. Giant or God?
Call out situations:
A scary test ๐Ÿ“š
Someone being mean ๐Ÿ˜
Feeling left out ๐Ÿ˜”
Ask:
๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œIs this giant bigger, or is God bigger?โ€

๐Ÿ’ช 3. Confidence Prayer

Stand tall together and pray:
โ€œGod, help us remember You are bigger than every fear and problem. Give us confidence because You are always with us.โ€ ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ™ Family Prayer: โ€œLord, thank You for being greater than every giant we face. Help us trust You like David did and remember that we never face hard things alone. Give us courage and confidence because You are with us. Amen.โ€

๐ŸŒŸ Family Challenge:
This week, when something feels scary or difficult, stop and say:
๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œGod is bigger than my giant!โ€ ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿชจ

Calvary Kid's Announcements for the week! ๐Ÿ˜

Sunday School Family Follow-Up ๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ
This week, kids learned how God cares for us like a Shepherd and how the early church cared for one another like family (Psalm 23 & Acts 2:42โ€“47).
The first Christians prayed together, shared with each other, and helped anyone in need. ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒŸ Bible Point: Godโ€™s family takes care of each other. ๐Ÿคโœจ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Family Discussion Questions ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
How does Psalm 23 describe Godโ€™s care for us? ๐Ÿ‘
What are some ways the early church helped one another? โค๏ธ
Why is it important for Christians to spend time together? โ›ช
How can our family care for others this week? ๐Ÿ˜Š
Who is someone we can encourage or pray for today? ๐Ÿ™

Share a meal together and talk about how the early Christians gathered and shared meals too.

Encouragement Notes ๐Ÿ’Œ
Write or draw encouraging messages for grandparents, teachers, or church friends.

๐Ÿ“– Memory Verse: โ€œAnd let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting togetherโ€ฆโ€ โ€” Hebrews 10:24โ€“25

God made us to live in community ๐Ÿ’™
Letโ€™s love, help, and encourage one another this week! โœจ

๐ŸŒŠโš”๏ธ Heroes vs. Villains: Moses vs. Pharaoh at the Red Sea

๐Ÿ“– Bible Story: Book of Exodus 14 โ€” Moses and Pharaoh at the Red Sea

๐Ÿ’ช Life Truth: God will give me the courage to do whatโ€™s right.
๐Ÿง  Memory Verse: Epistle to the Romans 12:21: โ€œDonโ€™t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.โ€

Godโ€™s people were trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaohโ€™s army ๐Ÿ˜จ, but God made a way where there seemed to be no way! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ™Œ Moses trusted God, obeyed Him, and God showed His power by parting the sea. This story reminds us that no problem, fear, or โ€œvillainโ€ is bigger than God! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Family Discussion Questions

โ“ What did Moses tell the people to do?

๐ŸŒฟโœจ Childrenโ€™s Church Family Follow-Up ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

๐Ÿ“– Bible Passage: Gospel of Matthew 6:25โ€“34
๐ŸŒŸ Main Point: Seek first the Kingdom of God.
๐Ÿ’› Heart Focus: Less of meโ€ฆ more of Him (โ€œMe must become Heโ€).
๐Ÿ™Œ Truth: Jesus is the only one who can fully satisfy our hearts.
๐Ÿง  Memory Verse: Gospel of John 17:3 โ€œAnd this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."

Jesus teaches us not to worry about our needsโ€”God knows and cares for us. ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒธ We often try to fill our hearts with things like toys, success, or attentionโ€”but those never fully satisfy. Only Jesus can truly fill our hearts and give us lasting peace and joy. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Family Discussion Questions
โ“ What are some things people worry about?
โ“ What examples did Jesus give (birds, flowers) to show Godโ€™s care? ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒผ
โ“ What does it mean to โ€œseek first the Kingdom of Godโ€?
โ“ What are some things people try to use to feel happy or satisfied?
โ“ Why donโ€™t those things last?
โ“ How does Jesus satisfy our hearts in a way nothing else can?
โ“ What does โ€œless of me, more of Himโ€ look like in your life?

๐ŸŽฏ Family Activities
๐Ÿฅค 1. โ€œFull or Empty?โ€ Object Lesson
Use a cup and fill it with different things (small toys, rocks, etc.), then try to pour water in.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Talk about how when our hearts are full of other things, thereโ€™s no room for Jesus.
Then empty it and fill it with water ๐Ÿ’ง
๐Ÿ‘‰ Only Jesus truly fills us!

๐Ÿฆ 2. Bird & Flower Reminder
Go outside and look for birds or flowers. ๐ŸŒธ
Talk about how God takes care of themโ€”and how much more He cares for us!

โค๏ธ 3. โ€œLess of Meโ€ Prayer

Each person shares one thing they want to give to God (worry, selfishness, fear).
Pray together: โ€œJesus, You are enough for me.โ€ ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ™ Family Prayer
โ€œJesus, thank You for loving us and caring for all our needs. Help us to seek You first and not chase after things that donโ€™t last. Remind us that You are the only one who truly satisfies our hearts. Amen.โ€

๐ŸŒŸ Family Challenge:
This week, when you feel worried or want something, pause and say: ๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œJesus, You are enough for me.โ€ ๐Ÿ’›

โœจ๐Ÿ™ Sunday School Family Follow-Up โœจ๐Ÿ™

On Sunday, kids learned how Peter explains what it means to believe in Jesus and have faithโ€”even when life is hard (1 Peter 1:3โ€“9).
Peter reminds us that our hope in Jesus is alive and realโ€”even though we canโ€™t see Him, we can trust Him! ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒŸ Bible Point: Have faith in Jesus. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Family Discussion Questions ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
What does it mean to have faith in Jesus? ๐Ÿค”
Can we believe in Jesus even if we canโ€™t see Him? ๐Ÿ‘€โžก๏ธ๐Ÿ’›
Why do you think hard times can help grow our faith? ๐Ÿ’ช
How can we trust Jesus when things are difficult? ๐ŸŒง๏ธ
What is one way you can show faith this week? โœจ

๐ŸŽจ Family Activities ๐ŸŽ‰
Trust Walk ๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Have one family member close their eyes while another gently leads them. Talk about trusting Jesus even when we canโ€™t see everything.

Faith Builder Chain ๐Ÿ”—
Write ways God has helped your family on strips of paper and connect them into a chain. Watch your โ€œfaith growโ€!

Prayer Time ๐Ÿ™
Pray for stronger faith and thank Jesus for always being with you.

๐Ÿ“– Bible Verse: โ€œNot only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.โ€ โ€” Romans 5:3โ€“4

Even when we canโ€™t see Him, we can trust Jesus every day ๐Ÿ’™โœจ
