What a great day of serving! 💙

Three of our young men spent the day serving Mrs. Marilyn Lavelle by cleaning up her back porch and washing the siding on her home. While we came to lend a helping hand, we left encouraged by getting to hear Mrs. Marilyn share how God has faithfully blessed her throughout her life, even through seasons of loss, suffering, and health challenges.

Moments like these remind us that serving isn’t just about what we do for others; it’s also about what God does in us through the people we meet.

So proud of these students and their willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We love seeing their hearts to serve others!

Mission: Overnight Adventures. Status: Somehow… we survived. 😎

It all started innocently enough at FlipZone. Trampolines were bounced, laser tag battles were fought, arcade high scores were questioned, and energy levels were through the roof.

Then we shifted into high gear at FunZone, where go karts settled absolutely nothing, putt putt created lifelong rivalries, and the arcade claimed whatever money we had left.

Normal people call it a night around midnight.

We call that halftime.

At 2:00 AM, we invaded the Hollands’ pool for a midnight swim that somehow gave everyone more energy instead of less.

By 4:00 AM, we were sneaking through the church playing Underground Church, proving that teenagers can, in fact, sprint full speed before sunrise… just not to get ready for school.

And then, at 8:00 AM, we finally reached the finish line.

BED.

Massive thanks to our incredible chaperones and the Holland family for making this crazy adventure possible. We laughed until our stomachs hurt, made memories we’ll be talking about for years, and discovered that sleep is apparently optional… at least for one night.

Same time next year? 😏

What an incredible week at Calvary Baptist Church!

I am so thankful for every one of our student leaders who gave their time, energy, and hearts to pour into the kids during VBS. You didn’t just help run a program, you made an eternal investment in the next generation.

We also celebrated an awesome milestone with our very first Middle School VBS, and the turnout was fantastic! It was exciting to see so many middle school students engaged, growing, and having fun together.

A special shoutout to Shawn Michael and Kate for leading our Middle School VBS class. They did an outstanding job teaching God’s Word with passion, clarity, and joy. Watching our high school students step up to disciple and invest in younger students is one of the greatest blessings of student ministry. This is exactly what it looks like to pass the faith from one generation to the next.

I’m so proud of all of our leaders. The future of The Movement is bright because of students who are willing to serve Jesus by serving others.
