Great Day Faith Partners,
Memorial Weekend Prayer Gatherings
Grace and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Over the past 48 hours, I have become aware of several of our faith partners who are experiencing illness and navigating difficult seasons. This has compelled me to seek the face of the Father in earnest prayer. In that time of seeking, the Lord has given a clear and unified directive: that we, as a body, come together in prayer.
Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:17 (ESV), “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” One of the foundational pillars of our fellowship has always been prayer—and now, more than ever, we must return to that sacred posture together.
Therefore, I am calling for a United in Prayer Gathering with Breakfast on:
Saturday, May 23, 202610:00 AM – 1:00 PMThe Hill, Elder Tonjua Boston will be preaching
During this time, we will gather to hear the Word of God, intercede collectively, and share in fellowship over breakfast ($15 per person).
We will be lifting up in prayer:
Individuals in Need:
• Deacon Leo Bullie
• Pastor Warren Alford
• Brother Tommie Lucas
• Elder Thressa DeGrandchamp
Churches in Pastoral Transition:
• Simpson Christian Community Church (Pastoral Search)
• Wilson Park Christian Community Church (Pastoral Search)
• Sugarloaf Christian Community Church (Pastoral Installation)
We recognize there are many others among your congregations who are on sick and shut-in lists or facing various challenges. We invite you to bring those concerns with you as we unite in intercession.
I am asking each partner church to bring your intercessors, ministers, and deacons as we go boldly before the throne of grace together.
Please take a moment to respond to this email and confirm your attendance no later than tomorrow morning
Beloved, this is an urgent call—not of panic, but of purpose. Let us come together in the power of prayer, unified in faith, expectation, and the authority of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your obedience to the call and your continued partnership in ministry.
Humbled to serve,
Bishop Antoine O. McClurkin (Bishop AO)PresidentUnited Council of Christian Community Churches of Maryland & Vicinity
