MARY HELPER OF MOTHERS ICON AT ST MARY'S IN JERSEY CITY

At the initiative of Bishop Kurt, a miraculous Marian icon is making a tour of all the Byzantine Catholic parishes in New Jersey. It is especially beloved by women who struggle with infertility or difficult pregnancies.

The icon will be at St Mary's Byzantine in Jersey City from August 27th through September 10th with a special celebration on Wednesday September 2, 7pm where the main celebrant will be Bishop Kurt.

All are welcome to join us for this prayer to the Mother of God. Please bring family and friends and spread this news.

Blessed Feast of the Dormition to all! May Mother of God intercede for us and protect our parish, family members, friends, beloved ones!

O Theotokos, in giving birth you preserved virginity; and in your falling asleep you did not forsake the world. You are the Mother of Life and have been transferred to life, and through your prayers you deliver our souls from death

Just a kind reminder:

UPDATE ON CHURCH AC

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

here is some update on AC. Unfortunately, it still does not work and the AC man has dedicated already good amount of time to it... Yet, there will be the liturgy on Sunday July 19, the fans will be placed in the church, and the liturgy will be online as well.
Thank you for understanding

Dear Parishioners and Friends, there are technical problems with the church AC and thus it does not run. That is why, for the safety reasons, the liturgy on Sunday July 12 will take place exclusively with the celebrant and cantor. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The liturgy will be livestreamed.

You know by whom the Bible was written? The Old Testament for %95 was written in Hebrew by the people who would no longer speak Hebrew but Aramaic! What was the language of Jesus? Most likely Aramaic, yet, all the New Testament is written in Greek: all those Jesus sayings, the beautiful prayer of Our Father, the parables, etc.
If there is a literal work that has to deal with the foreign languages and with the people who wrote in the languages that were not their mother languages, it is certainly the Bible!

So tonight, if you wish to listen to 30min Bible study in English by a not native English speaker, please just click at 8pm on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0BLjZjBecY
All are welcome!
