Welcome to Episode 6 of Shabda Se Shakti Tak – The Sundarkand Series.

After completing the three Mangalacharana verses, we now begin the actual story of Sundarkand.

At the southern seashore, the Vanaras learned that Sita Maiya was being held captive in Lanka—but who could cross the vast ocean, find her and return safely?

At that crucial moment, the wise Jambavan reminded Hanumanji of his extraordinary strength, wisdom and divine powers. His inspiring words awakened Hanumanji’s confidence and filled his heart with joy.

जामवंत के बचन सुहाए।
सुनि हनुमंत हृदय अति भाए॥

Hanumanji then asked his companions to wait patiently and sustain themselves with roots, tubers and fruits until he returned.

This powerful moment reminds us that sometimes our true strength already lies within us—we simply need someone to help us recognize it.

Shabda Se Shakti Tak – Sundarkand Series | Episode 5

In this episode, we explore the third and final Sanskrit verse of the Mangala Charana. After invoking and praying to Shri Ram, Tulsidasji bows to Hanumanji before beginning the sacred journey of Sundarkand:

अतुलितबलधामं हेमशैलाभदेहं
दनुजवनकृशानुं ज्ञानिनामग्रगण्यम्।
सकलगुणनिधानं वानराणामधीशं
रघुपतिप्रियभक्तं वातजातं नमामि॥ ३॥

“I bow to Hanumanji—the abode of incomparable strength, radiant like a golden mountain, the blazing fire that destroys demons, foremost among the wise, the treasure-house of all virtues, leader of the Vanaras, beloved devotee of Shri Ram, and son of the Wind-god.”

Hanumanji’s greatness lies not only in his immense strength, but also in his wisdom. He knows when to become enormous or tiny, when to fight or remain hidden, and when to speak or patiently wait.

Strength gives Hanumanji the ability to act; wisdom guides him in using it.

With this episode, we complete the three invocation prayers. In the next episode, we begin the sacred story of Sundarkand.

In today’s episode, we explore the second Mangala Charana Shloka, in which Goswami Tulsidasji offers a heartfelt prayer of complete surrender to Shri Ram:

नान्या स्पृहा रघुपते हृदयेऽस्मदीये
सत्यं वदामि च भवानखिलान्तरात्मा।
भक्तिं प्रयच्छ रघुपुङ्गव निर्भरां मे
कामादिदोषरहितं कुरु मानसं च॥ २॥

“O Lord Rama, there is no other desire in my heart—and You, who reside within every heart, know this truth. Please bless me with complete and unwavering devotion, and purify my mind of selfish desires and worldly impurities.”

At its heart, this beautiful verse contains two sincere prayers:

🙏 Grant me wholehearted devotion to You.
🪷 Purify my mind and free it from worldly weaknesses.

True devotion is not merely asking the Lord to fulfil our desires—it is asking Him to transform our hearts.

In this beautiful prayer, Goswami Tulsidasji bows to Lord Rama—the eternal, peaceful and all-pervading Lord; the giver of liberation and everlasting peace; the ocean of compassion; the greatest of the Raghu dynasty; and the crown jewel among kings.

Although He appears in human form through His divine power, Lord Rama is the Supreme Lord of the universe.
