SUNDAY OF THE PARALYTIC
Troparion (Tone 3): Let the heavens be glad, let the earth rejoice,* for the Lord has done a mighty deed with his arm.* He trampled death by death; He became the first born of the dead;* He saved us from the abyss of Hades* and granted great mercy to the world.

+Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Kontakion (Tone 3): Lord, as of old You raised the Paralytic,* lift my soul by Your divine presence,* for by my many sins and foolish actions,* I, too, am now afflicted and crippled.* Raise me, that being saved I may cry to You:* Glory to Your power, O merciful Christ.

A reading from the Acts of Holy Apostles (9:32-42):
In those days Peter went here and there among all the believers, he came down also to the saints living in Lydda. There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, for he was paralysed. Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed!’ And immediately he got up. And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord. Now in Joppa there was a disciple whose name was Tabitha, which in Greek is Dorcas. She was devoted to good works and acts of charity. At that time she became ill and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in a room upstairs. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, who heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him with the request, ‘Please come to us without delay.’ So Peter got up and went with them; and when he arrived, they took him to the room upstairs. All the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing tunics and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was with them. Peter put all of them outside, and then he knelt down and prayed. He turned to the body and said, ‘Tabitha, get up.’ Then she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up. He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he showed her to be alive. This became known throughout Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St John (5:1-15):
At that time Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate there is a pool, called in Hebrew Beth-zatha, which has five porticoes. In these lay many invalids – blind, lame, and paralysed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him, ‘Do you want to be made well?’ The sick man answered him, ‘Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am making my way, someone else steps down ahead of me.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Stand up, take your mat and walk.’ At once the man was made well, and he took up his mat and began to walk. Now that day was a sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who had been cured, ‘It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.’ But he answered them, ‘The man who made me well said to me, “Take up your mat and walk.” They asked him, ‘Who is the man who said to you, “Take it up and walk”?’ Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared in the crowd that was there. Later Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, ‘See, you have been made well! Do not sin any more, so that nothing worse happens to you.’ The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Instead of “It is truly…”: The Angel cried out to the One full of Grace: O chaste Virgin, rejoice! And again, I say, Rejoice! Your Son has risen from the tomb on the third day and raised the dead. Let all people rejoice!
Irmos (Tone 1): Shine, shine, O new Jerusalem! for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Exult now and be glad, O Zion! And you, O chaste Mother of God, take delight in the resurrection of your Son.

Communion Verse: Receive the body of Christ; taste the fountain of immortality. Alleluia! (3).

Петро негайно рушив з ними. І як прийшов, вони його повели наверх у горницю, де всі вдови оточили його з плачем, показуючи йому туніки й плащі, що їх робила Дорка, бувши з ними. 40. Велівши всім вийти з хати, Петро став на коліна й почав молитися, а повернувшись до тіла, мовив: «Тавито, встань!» І та відкрила свої очі й, побачивши Петра, сіла. 41. Він же подав їй руку та й підвів її і, прикликавши святих та вдів, поставив її живою. 42. Довідалась про це вся Яффа, і багато повірило в Господа.

Від Івана святого Євангелія читáння – 14 зач. 5, 1-15:
Коли настав вечір, того В той час Ісус прибув до Єрусалиму. 2. А є в Єрусалимі Овеча купіль, що зветься по-єврейськи Витесда й має п'ять притворів. 3. У них лежала сила недужих, сліпих, кривих і сухих, які чекали, коли зворушиться вода: 4. бо ангел Господній сходив час від часу в купіль і зворушував воду, і хто перший по зворушенні води спускався у купіль, видужував, хоч би яка була його недуга. 5. Був там один чоловік, що нездужав тридцять вісім років. 6. Побачив Ісус, що він лежить, і довідавшися, що він вже дуже довго нездужає, каже до нього: – Бажаєш видужати? 7. Відповідає йому недужий: – Не маю нікого, пане, хто б мене спустив у купіль, коли зворушиться вода, бо коли я туди приходжу, інший передо мною сходить. 8. Ісус мовить до нього: – Устань, візьми ложе твоє й ходи! 9. І відразу видужав той чоловік і взяв своє ложе, й почав ходити. 10. А був то день суботній. Юдеї кажуть тому, що видужав: – Таж то субота. Не личить тобі носити ложе. 11. Той їм відповів: – Той, хто мене оздоровив, сказав мені: візьми твоє ложе й ходи. 12. Спитали його: – Хто той, що сказав тобі: візьми й ходи? 13. Але той, що видужав, не знав, хто він, бо Ісус зник у натовпі, що був на тому місці. 14. Потім Ісус найшов його у храмі й мовив до нього: – Оце ти видужав, не гріши ж більше, щоб що гірше тобі не сталось. 15. Чоловік пішов і оповів юдеям, що то Ісус оздоровив його.

Замість Достойно: Ангел сповіщав Благодатній: Чистая Діво, радуйся. І знову кажу: Радуйся. Твій Син воскрес тридневний із гробу, і мертвих воздвигнув він; люди, веселіться.
Ірмос, глас 1: Світися, світися, новий Єрусалиме, слава бо Господня на тобі возсіяла. Радій нині і веселися, Сіоне. А ти, Чистая, красуйся, Богородице, востанням рождення Твого.

Причасниий: Тіло Христове прийміть, джерела безсмертного споживіть. (Пс 148,1). Алилуя (3).

"Ангел бо Господній кожного літа сходив, воду в купальні збурював і тільки одного здоровим робив, Христос же безліч вірних Божественним хрещенням спасає.

При Овечій купелі лежала немічна людина,* і бачивши тебе, Господи, кликала:* Не маю чоловіка, що вкинув би мене в зрушені води!* Бо коли я доходжу, то інший мене випереджує* і стає здоровим, а я далі лежу немічний.* І змилувався Спас та й каже до нього:* Задля тебе я став людиною, заради тебе я воплотився,* а ти кажеш: – Не маю чоловіка.* Візьми твою постіль і ходи!* Все тобі можливе, все слухає тебе й підкоряється,* тож, як Людинолюбець, пом’яни, Спасе, всіх нас і помилуй.

Протягом довгих літ тяжко хвору немічну душу мою зціли, Преблагий, як раніше розслабленого, щоб я пішов Твоїми стежками, які Ти показав тим, хто любить Тебе.

Господи, розслабленого не купальня зцілила, але Твоє слово оновило, і навіть багатолітній недуг не перешкодив йому: щоб скоріше показалася дія Твого гласа, і незносимий тягар відкинув, а вагу пос­телі поніс, на свідчення багатства щедрот Твоїх, сла­ва Тобі."

Forty years ago, the Chornobyl disaster changed the lives of millions — a tragedy that continues to remind us of the fragility of life, the cost of human decisions, and the weight of responsibility.

We remember those who lost their lives, and we honor those who, at great personal risk, helped prevent an even greater catastrophe.

On this anniversary, His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk called the faithful to prayer and remembrance: “May this day of sorrowful remembrance become a day of prayer.”

Eternal memory to all who suffered!

40 років тому сталася Чорнобильська катастрофа — трагедія, яка й сьогодні нагадує нам про крихкість життя, ціну людських рішень і відповідальність, що не має строку давності. Це пам’ять про тих, хто втратив життя, і про тих, хто, ризикуючи всім, зупинив ще більшу біду.

У ці роковини Блаженніший Святослав Шевчук звернувся до вірних із закликом до молитви та пам’яті: «Нехай цей день скорботних роковин стане днем молитви».

Вічная пам’ять усім, хто постраждав!

Під час Великодніх свят у наших храмах велично лунає знайома кожному пісня «Христос Воскрес. Радість з неба ся являє». Проте мало хто знає, що її автором є о. Сильвестр Лепкий — священник, письменник і батько відомих діячів української культури Богдана та Левка Лепких.

​Своє служіння він ніс в с. Крогулець та на Бережанщині. Життєвий шлях отця Сильвестра завершився у 1901 році в селі Жуків, але його творча спадщина й досі живе в серці кожного українця під час Великодньої Святкової Літургії на Галичині.
